According to Craig Revel Horwood Arlene will be back as a judge in 2010.

I think she is better than Alesha so yes I would have her back.

What do you think?

But Revel Horwood, himself a choreographer, believes if she were offered the chance to come back to Strictly, she would return – and the way could be open after Dixon hinted this week she may quit after just one series to try to crack America.

He said: ‘It’s not as though Arlene’s out of work but she has always held the show to her heart. I miss her acerbic nature against mine. We formed a relationship over six series.’

Craig, 44, says he believes TV bosses at the BBC1 show are now plotting to bring back Arlene - who will launch the channel's new show So You Think You Can Dance? in January - after Alesha quits the series to pursue her music career in America.

The Aussie also hinted at a possible comeback for axed judge Arlene Phillips, 66, who was replaced by former champ Alesha Dixon.

He said: "I think there's room to get Arlene back and have five judges."

BUT according to The Star on Sunday

Craig, a pal of axed judge Arlene Phillips, also revealed his theory on her departure.

He said: “I think it may be possible that Arlene actually chose to leave. I mean we’ve had 20% pay cuts at the BBC. Maybe that was a factor, who knows?

“There have been a lot of rumours about her dismissal but maybe she was always going to do that other dance show. It’s not as if she’s out of work.

“She’s never told me what happened. I’ve asked her. We’ve been out together, we’ve done lunch and I count her as a really good friend but she just won’t talk about it.”

Tbh I don't particularly want Arlene back and I'd drop Len and Bruno too. I think it likely that Alesha will quit anyway and I'd like a new panel headed up by Craig consisting of Karen, Camilla and A.N.Other.

I think that such a line-up is less likely to act like panto dames...most of the time

That's what I've always thought.

All the other judges accepted pay cuts and stayed...

I certainly hope she doesn't, that woman has such a foul mouth!

I would like to see Alesha go but I wouldn't like to see Arlene back, Karen Hardy is the best choice.

Personally, I would welcome the replacement of Alesha Dixon, whether it's Arlene Phillips or a retired professional dancer, such as Karen Hardy. There is a world of difference between using a professional with the wealth of experience they have compared with a former contestant. I hope that executives at the BBC will review this series once it has finished, as I believe the current formula has caused the programme to lose credibility. Keep an eye out for any announcements in press releases on the BBC website and take what is reported in the tabloid press with a pinch of salt.

I'd be horrified if the awful Arlene returned. Every time she used to speak i used to either cringe or want to chuck something at the TV. She was dreadful!!

NO ARLENE - NOT NOW, NOT EVER!!!

Glad she's gone and don't want her back. Anyone else but her!

Have either 3 or 5 judges one of which should deffinitely be KH.

So they have. They were there this morning.

In fact DS uses the Mirror story.

Horwood, 44, suggested to the Sunday Mirror etc etc

I agree Arlene is a better judge than Alesha, by some considerable distance, but I still wouldn't have her back. I would like to see Karen Hardy on the panel, but I fear she's not enough of a celebrity to be given the gig.

Having said that, and judging by the opprobrius nature of the comments about her performance by so many other forum members, Alesha has in no way grated on my nerves in the way she seems to on other people's. Given the fact that Strictly is a pro-celebrity dance contest, I think she's been entirely adequate as a judge, if a little bland.

I've just tweeted BBC Strictly saying that Alesha may not have been the huge success they hoped for but please don't subject us to Arlene again.

I don't think they'd be so stupid though - then again

Leaving all personality aside I think there should be no going back, its never a good idea. Alesha was a mistake and shouldnt be back next year but they need to replace her without someone other than Arlene that has the credentials to be a judge. I am not convinced by the argument that it should be Karen or Camilla as they are too close to the show and I am not convinced they could be impartial.
