We had Mr Showman winning last year and Osmond won on the US show. Its all getting so predictable. If Hollins wins it will set such a pattern that I can see people really losing interest and switching off next year.

What do you think it is? A dancing competition?

If so, you are clearly watching the wrong show.

Nice try to start another anti-Team Cola thread. We now have an outbreak of these. I wonder why ... Some people realising their favourites might be threatened?

Showmanship is very much what Strictly is about. If you don't like that, you don't have to watch.

I dont think he's any worse than Darren Gough who won, Chris Parker and Julian Clary got to the finals and they were worse.

John Sargeant had a big big chance of winning before withdrawing.

If the public vote for them to win then thats the winner the majority want

I prefer someone winning who can dance quite well, has great chemistry with their partner and shows how much fun they're having, to someone who is a little better at dancing but who is privileged and overmarked by the judges. True, the audience shouldn't vote for people like John Sargeant and Joe Calzaghe instead of for better dancers, but I still prefer the audience's favourite winning to the judges' favourite winning. They should be impartial!

If it is supposed to be about the best dancer, then the public shouldn't be invited to vote.

On the other hand, William Hill gave me 33/1 on Chris Hollins to win when the series first started so I'm torn.

Tom won because he was the public favourite. Thats you and me. Those that watch the programme and vote.

Its not about who is the best dancer, it is who can dance well and entertain as well. This is why some pro's go for the more showy dances.

If Cola wins then good for them as I have enjoyed their partnership. I never thought I would like Ola. I thought the charleston was great.

Ricky & Nat - too serious
Ali & Brian - too boring
Laila & Anton - too moany

How is that bashing them? Im not starting spiteful threads attacking the way Ali dances or the way she behaves. Its their fans who are irritating me.

Well that in itself is a spiteful thing to say. I've never bashed Chris or started a thread on him and none of the regular posters on Ali and Brians appreciation thread have either

I think its quite funny all the anti Chris threads that have just emerged. I think fans of some of the others thought his support would fade away and now they are beginning to panic. So we have had several threads trying to convince people that voting for Chris is a waste of time because of his potential position on the board, or that he dances like Norman Wisdom etc etc etc.

Yes it might be more difficult for Chris and Ola to get to the final because they are generally lower on the board than the others but its certainly not impossible and who is to say the BBC wont suddenly decide to have the 3 couple final, even the BBC are not stupid enough to realise that Chris and Ola are a huge potential draw for the series finale.

In the grand scheme of things whoever wins Strictly is really very unimportant and has rarely been won by the person that was the 'best' dancer as that term is very subjective anyway

Tom winning was not a farce. He was a pretty competant dancer, perhaps until the semi-final when Rachel and Lisa outdanced him.

Chris, in comparison, is much further behind the two front runners in his year (Ali and Ricky). I still don't think him winning will equate to a farce though, but then again, I don't actually believe he will win.

Its not a spiteful thing to say at all, though I do think comments calling Chris "cheesy" and mocking his dancing are incrediably nasty and smacking of bitterness and sour grapes.

And where did I say you personally started threads attacking him? I didnt, but a quick look through the posting history of some the people being nasty to Chris shows that they are indeed supporters of Ali.

If it were a dance competition, there's no need for a public vote and yes, Ricky or Ali deserve to win. SCD is about learning to dance and the joy of dancing, the effort put in, a good attitude to whatever the show throws at you, as well as seeing partnerships grow. As such, the show won't lack credibility to me if Chris won.

i would rather someone win who has a great partnership made obvious improvement and is enjoying their time on the show like chris and ola or even ali and brian in my opinion ricky if anything has been going backwards and not improved that much since the beginning

Your feelings would be backed up by Ali taking over from Ricky as the betting favourite to win and Chris's odd shortening too.

I think I can say that out of the 7 series only once (possibly twice) has the best dancer actually won.

You've got to be more than a good technical dancer to win - you've got to entertain and have a good partnership too.

And I certainly wouldn't say Chris is any worse than Darren Gough.
