Each year without fail they seem to pick a couple to see through rose coloured glasses - this year it's Ali and partner. They can do no wrong even when they bump other couples on the dance floor rather than give way and they gave the poorest of performances in the Charleston. Last year the were proved wrong with Rachel lets hope they start being more fair to the others. Leila VW was worth a 10 too.
the judges have put their blinkers on again
A lot of voters in this show seem to have blindfolds on....so I guess it sort of balances out really.
If you watch the playback of the VW, the judges were too busy scrabbling about with pieces of paper coming up with scores rather than watching the dances. Very high possibility they missed the bumping by Brian at the end.
I thought the whole thing was a bit of a futile exercise to be honest - although I wouldn't say pointless because I suppose the ability to give out the points where they desired was the object of the exercise.

Rachel was not seen through coloured glasses. Was that a typo? Did you mean to type LISA-OVERMARKED-SNOWDON?

This was my feeling too - the opportunity to engineer the positions on the leaderboard.
Otherwise, I don't see the logic in them conferring on their points for the VW, while having to mark the first dance separately.
All the couples did a full dance - so why only one set of points?

Because it was scored as a competition dance was scored?
first-off, let me say i'm not a huge fan of any of the final 4 either way, but i do think the judges are quite ali-biased last year (so for me, like lisa snowdon and emma bunton, who i didn't *get* either.)
only when james mentioned it on ITT today did i realise that her hold is too high, and that's what's been bothering me watching her ballroom for so long. and the judges have never mentioned it. and let's not even go into that perfect 10 despite the fact it was meant to be marked on 'floorcraft'.

I'm not a huge Ali fan - I much prefer Ricky - but I do think her Charleston was the best one of the night. She had the most technical content and the best swivel and scissor action. However, she and Brian weren't great in the Viennese Waltz as they impeded at least two couples. As such the highest score they should have received was 8.

The Charleston was good (personally thought Chris's better but could have gone either way) in VW as I have said before when judging a floor of 6 in a final it is pretty easy to spot the placings and does not take long. Unless it is something pretty bad impeding another couple will not lose anyone any marks and Ali's action in the VW was smooth though again I would have marked it Ricky the Ali and would always put Laila were she ended up

The bumping had no consequence, the mark of 10 had no consequence. The bumping occurred because Ricky crossed into Brian's outside line. Ali still danced better than anyone else. If she deserved a 9 everyone elses marks would have moved down to.
Their Charleston was clearly the best - Chris's avoided content and steps and hammed it up . Laila's was an Anton Charleston - teaparty rather than speakeasy.
The judges were proved totally right with Rachel - it was ridiculous that she didn't win on such a big margin of ability and had to wait for the tour to do so.

From the footage it is pretty clear that Brian & Ali crossed the entire floor instead of continuing around it in the anti-clockwise manner they were supposed to and not Ricky & Natalie.
I've added all scores so far from weeks 10 and 11 for the remaining couples so everyone can decide for themselves just how much of a consequence the 'bumping' and the scores had.
Natalie and Chris' total dance averages are exactly the same at week 11 plus Chris' Ballroom average was the only one not affected by the VW scores.
(I've left in Jade and Zoe's averages too for comparison - interesting
