QUESTION: Do you really think the judges give a s*** about who wins?
Besides Simon Cowell (who cares very much about the money, and ONLY the money), what, exactly, is there for any of the judges to gain or lose?

Honestly, no I don't. I don't think even Cowell cares as long as they make him money. If Jedward would've done that then he would've been happy to see them win.

not even simon this time..think about it? Leona and Alex are just really putting roots down hes going to make a fortune out of the pair of them.
just look at the judges faces this year to last..all of them know its been a washout. anyone of the final 12 last year would have won this year for sure they totally messed up picking people because they allowed the live audience auditions to sway them. |

in reply to the OP, here is what I posted on another forum earlier :
Are people still getting sucked in by this manufactured rubbish? The producers (read 'Simon Cowell') always let through one or two really rubbish acts through to the live finals every year. This strategy gets the public talking, and keeps them in the papers week in week out. The public vote means nothing (apart from 'kerchiiing' for Simon Cowell/ITV) - the judges have the final say on who to keep from the bottom two, and even then, the judges votes are controlled by the 'producers'. This year it was the turn of Jedward - its funny how they were kept in right until last week - which happened to be the final week where the judges get to save one of the bottom two. They knew that if they didnt get rid last week they may end of winning the competition something that Simon does not want. (but he did want them progressing quite far in the competition just to get on the front of the tabloids). I stopped watching XFactor a couple of years ago, so its scary how i actually know some of the acts from this year - mostly 'got' from reading the Metro newspaper. Just goes to show the power of the Cowell/Max Clifford PR machines. Simon Cowell already has too much power in the music business, leaving very little room for creativity (remember, the artists he signs up from programmes such as X Factor have little or no creative control - do as you're told or bugger off ala Steve Brookstein). Not content with killing off the 'fun' of the Christmas number one, he will get much bigger when he eventually merges Syco with Peter Greene's empire . Now theres a scary thought. |

nothing...
cowell wants the occasional leona and alexandra to boost the shows credibility so he has a base to argue against critics but i'd say if he only gets a leona/alexandra (more alexandra than leona, it IS amazing she cracked the US) once every 3/4 years he'd be grand dannii and cheryl had nothing to gain or lose. they just get the publicity louis might be interested in the occasional groups but admittedly so few come along he's there for the fun of it i'd say. |

Do the judges care who wins? In a word no.
The show is a ratings monster and Syco earn's greatly from it, not to mention the rumoured 10 million plus they will pull in from the X Factor tour. I think Simon Cowell & Co are very content with the hit rate of the show i.e they discovered Leona Lewis and acts like JLS & Rydian are doing very well off the back off the X Factor even though they didn't win. Alexandra may do well too and she has had 2 No 1 record's. I know Simon & Co are always going on about finding a world class act, but they know realistically that they won't do that every year. They always sell a decent amount of the winners C.D's and they have had the Christmas No 1 in the bag for years now. If they end up with another Steve Brookstein/Leon Jackson short lived success story this year it won't matter one jot to them in the great scheme of things. |

The show must go on. Even if nobody really has the X Factor this year.

Now he is pulling out all of the stops to ensure Joe wins. This is obvious even to the point of sacrificing his own acts into the bargain. And, all to impress Princess Cheryl his little poodle puppy. Has anyone read "Charthrob" by Ben Elton. Simon has, I know, and he has picked up a lot of tips from it. |

the judges couldn't care less .if a good singer wins they are happy ,if a bad one wins they will get the 1st album done then dump them, the judges get the money from the show.

God, I thought I was cynical, but you guys are so jaded!
They're so well paid they don't have to care about their finances - there's no doubt about that. So, like most other wealthy people they find some other reason to get out of bed, to work, to compete. What about bragging rights? The pure fun of it? Or a simple sense of achievement? If you were filthy stinking rich how long could you laze around in the sun on some tropical beach before you got bored of it? A lot of people work for more than just the cash, and I actually think all of them enjoy the show in their own way. |
