As I said earlier in the thread, I had a look at the last five weeks of figures that BARB had, and compared them to the equivalent weeks from last year. This year's show was only rated higher once, and was down by an average of half a million a week compared to last year.

Well I am one of those that feel it will be the straw that broke the camels back. I loved her as a contestant but as a judge - no.
If she is indeed back I won't be watching next year as I fast forward Bruce's embarrassing jokes/dancing etc, I fast forward Bruno's hysterical screeching & gesticulating, I fast forward Natalie L's smug looks & comments (I like her dancing though) & now I'm finding myself fast forwarding Aleisha's cringeworthy "advice". It just won't be worth the bother any more .
Maybe I'll try X Factor again now Sharon has left .

1. Arlene is back as a judge for the tour
2. Karen Hardy is good enough to judge the World Championship in Australia but not apparently to do so on Strictly.

The difficulty with Alesha is the idea of a non professional dancer criticising the Pros in effect for poor choreography.

The BBC would never admit they were wrong by inviting Arlene back but they could have saved themselves some flack by appointing say Karen or Camilla instead. Either of those would have expertise plus a knowledge of what celebrities go through.

I don't want the BBC to admit they were wrong - primarily because they were absolutely right in ditching Arlene. But KH would make a great judge.

None of the judges are there to criticise the professionals choreography, yes they will comment if they think it is to easy or too difficult but in reality they are judging the celebs ability to complete the steps taught by the pro, in the correct order and in time to the music........

Yes Strictly still has healthy (but declining) ratings but like jacquiann, I think everyone has a tipping point.

I think a lot of people jumped ship last series as Forsyth got less competent, Len got more tetchy and there were various production issues that puzzled viewers.

This time, despite being The Biggest, Hardest, Longest blah blah blah it's seems to be wobbling worse than ever.
The tipping point is being reached by an increasing number of people, as far as I can see and it doesn't matter how often the BBC tell us that everything's hunky dorey, not everyone's convinced.

I wish she would just bugger off; I thought she was a great contestant (and deserved to win), but she's starting to resemble a guest who refuses to go home after a party has finished.

Having an ex-winning celeb as a judge is just a crap idea; I'd probably get weary of any ex-champion celeb as a judge.
