Has anyone been so offended by Olly that they will be voting for Danyl?

This is NOT a thread to debate whether or not he was right. That has been done to death.

It's a simple yes or no with an optional reason why

I think I shall be voting Danyl; I don't care who wins (out of Joe and Stacey) but I think I'd rather see Olly off next week than Danyl after yday night

It would have to be one hell of an offensive action for me to vote for Danyl. Celebrating getting through after being in the bottom two the week before and being cruelly left until last this week does not constitute that. I'm not aware that Olly has eaten a kitten for breakfast so, no, I will not be voting for Danyl.

I'm asking if people were so offended (people were offended, we know this from the other threads) by Olly that they will tactically vote for Danyl next week.

I said that I will be voting for Danyl. I can't 'vote out' Olly. Why did I say it? To answer the question I posed in the title.

I never really understood the logic of "voting out" a contestant. Why would you want to do that? Why can't people not concetrate on who they like the most and vote for them? (and if they don't like anybody, don't vote at all). I don't get negative voting, it just seems vicious to me. Even if somebody was offended by Olly in the moment, I can't see how they can still feel so strongly about it after a week to the point of "vindictively" voting him off.

A bit off-topic, but do you think people were actually "voting against" the twins as well? I was shocked to see that there is a facebook group with over 300,000 members determined to get them out. Surely that is just crazy? (poor twins by the way, they were my favorites this year)

And I'd like to add this: negative voting just results in having very bland, inoffensive winners, because all the ones that people feel strongly about and have both lovers and haters get voted off. It's a bit of a shame really.

I'm not just negatively voting - Danyl was always my third fave (after Jamie and J&E), but I'm curious if people are or not. Whether it's right or wrong, it does happen.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people in the twins' hate groups were voting for Lloyd.

I should probably add, I don't think much of Olly as an act tbh I liked him for a few weeks and love his Live Lounges with Jamie but he seems to be getting worse in my opinion. I would rather see Danyl in the final for a number of reasons, but I'd be lying if I said Olly's shirting of Lloyd wasn't a contriuting factor to me voting this week. I'm sorry, I do feel quite strongly now whereas before I didn't care who went - I like Danyl but he's not going to win.

I doubt many people will vote for Danyl (or anyone) simply because they were put off by Olly's lack of manners in the heat of the moment (Thats all I consider it to be personally). They may choose NOT to vote for him I suppose, although my general feeling is that by the time the lines open again it will be a long gone story.

If however, he was a joint favourite and they were perturbed by his behaviour, it may mean that they vote for the other person, whoever that may be.

Its nice that you will vote for Danyl, lovecat86, I get the feeling he may need it if he is to go to the final. And I would love to see him there, even if I know he won't win.

well to answer your question: I don't think I have ever been offended by a contestant on Xfactor, I think the only person on the show that offends me is Simon Cowell and possibly Louis (but he is just silly so can be forgiven). But even if I had been offended by somebody I don't think I would vote against them because I just don't believe in negative voting, I don't think it's right. I don't see myself voting for Danyl because I don't like his voice, but if he does something spectacular I might vote for him in the final (i think I prefer him to Joe). And I might vote for Olly because I find him entertaining at times and also because I usually feel sorry for the underdogs and now he is starting to feel like one.

no, because it is petty to change support for someone purely because of an impulse reaction, the only thing that would make me not want to vote for olly is if I thought his performance was poop and I didn't see any potential, would only vote for danyl if he gave a wow performance that I love

I like Danyl so will vote for him regardless but Olly is my second favourite so I'll throw a couple of votes his way too.

Lovecat my friend has said today she cannot vote anymore for Olly and will change her vote to Danyl as for her he is the only other one she likes enough to pick up the phone for, I was shocked as she is an Essex lass as well, but she said what type of example do I set my own kids when I give them a slap for being rude if I then vote for what I consider rude.

I will also say my daughter who has not voted for ANYONE is still routing for Olly as she does not like anyone else, and also has a bet on him to win.. shallow girl, but her idea of marrying him from day one is no longer there as she was disappointed in him as she thought he was so much better than that.

GG

Son number 2 will carry on voting for Danyl, glad its his mobile and not my phone bill is all I can say!

I have a question for those who are voting for Danyl simply because they don't want to vote for Olly due to his behaviour last night! Why are you voting for Danyl and not Joe or Stacey? For those who have always had Danyl as their second favourite fair enough but for the rest of you... Why Danyl?

I'm still voting Joe btw

Probably because Danyl is favourite to leave next Sunday so by voting for Danyl there's a chance that might push Olly into bottom spot.

I've warmed to Danyl recently anyway and I would much rather he be in the final than Olly.

What a stupid thread. Olly got through and celebrated as he was excited. its his dream career on the line. Anyone would have done the same

I am offended that Joe gets called through first or second every week. Producers cant keep little Geordie sweating it out too long case he cant handle it.
