The dance purists are having a touch of the vapours.

I've yet to see even one dance purist here.

Lighten up Veri - who knows you might even begin to enjoy the banter.

Why in the last 24 hours has there been a surge in anti Chris feeling ?

- dances like Norman Wisdom
- a farce if he wins
- short men like Chris don't look elegant dancing
- Chris mugging to camera

I readily acknowledge he isn't the most accomplished dancer in the competition (I started the thread about the dance competiton - agree with most of you by the way).

But whats not to like about him ? He's funny, charming, his partnership with Ola has brought out a lovely side of her. Their Charleston on Saturday was a joy to watch, absolutely hilarious and out the biggest smile on my face this entire series ?

Don't tell me the competition are feeling slightly threatened by his chances are they!!!!

Game on!
Hardly - this year's crop of zlebs haven't inspired me one iota and for the first time ever, I've yet to cast a single vote

As far as "Munchkin-man" is concerned, I've loathed him since week 1 - no idea why, I just have - perhaps it's my lack of tolerance for the man-child persona in any adult male.

As the weeks go by, "Yeah Baby", "Ola-Chops" the "twee little hobbits" routine have become more and more off-putting for me .....

Speaking on behalf of the WWWs, may I say "Welcome to our world". We've had this from all sides since week 2, with very little respite.

Chris's supporters can take solace in the thought that these threads have only started because he's now being taken seriously as a contender for the glitterball.

Its been a long and hard slog Laura, chin up, it aint over yet and we WWW's can be proud of the defense we have put up in support of our guy. I must admit this did pass my mind, how it is refreshing not to have to battle the 2/3 of the forum who dont like my no1 contender. But it isnt nice whomever you support when nasty threads pop up.

There is plenty of vitriol going around for all of those remaining. Unfortunately.

It's at this stage of the competition that I don't like the forum. Rather than saying positive things about who they support, people make negative comments about the others.
In fact Chris has had an easy time compared to ALL the others left ...

I don't mind if they can take it as well as dish it out. A lot of posts are personal, they contain nothing about the merits of the dancers.
I responded to a poster who said Chris and Ola resembled "farmyard animals"..my post in reply contained no personal insults but appears to have been deleted. I'm beginning to wonder if this forum is moderated with a hint of bias.

Well, if Chris goes this week then it's Laila's turn. I think I could join in with that quite heartily.

Only tricky bit will be deciding whose side to be on in the vicious Ali vs Ricky pre-final slanging match
Ooh, there will be blood!

This happens every year at this stage of the competition so I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. As we get the to thin end of the wedge, every celeb starts getting more criticism as there is more at stake, and there are less celebs amongst whom to spread the discussion topics.

If Chris appears to be getting more criticism now, it's only because he received disproportionately less than Ricky or Natalie C earlier, and a natural balance is being restored.

And the implication that anyone who doesn't want Chris to win is just "jelus" or some kind of rampant Ali fan is way off the mark. Some of us just don't think Chris is very good at all at dancing, and don't feel his magic either.

Missing out on what? I loved Jill the year she won, but I don't think the people who didn't get her magic missed out! It's just a difference of opinion. Fortunately I am able to appreciate that people who have different opinions and experiences to mine still manage to lead fulfilling lives and don't miss out.

only thing is non of the threads have been started by Bhouy because he wants Chris or Laila to win.
Psst. He had a lot of stakes in the betting.

Exactly. Since the others have been getting it for a while, maybe he'd feel left out of he didn't get some too.

You stated the obvious, he is not very accomplished in dance, but seems to be a contender only due to his funniness & charm. Even K Hardy stated that his Charleston only lacked one thing. He couldn't do the Charleston, but just so cute. DAH!!

I actually do feel I am missing out by not getting Team Cola.

I can watch Chris and see that he is being funny but I just don't get the enthusiasm for him. I know loads of people do and I want to. I want to join in the fun!!!

The mutual dissing of non-favoured contestants this year is absolutely nothing compared to what the Gethin vs Matt de Alzheimero camps did to each other two years ago. Hundreds of oestrogen-fuelled hate mails about two "eligible" (they wished) bachelors. Now that was fun to read!

SCD needs to choose two guys, 15 years younger than Chris, for 2010. That'll ensure a nice audience, size-wise at least.
