It may be nothing, but ... new firmware on its way??

I see that the DTG schedule fo OTA updates has the updates for both the Humax HD and the HDR ending tomorrow (2nd Dec). Does this mean another update about to hit the airwaves?

The updated schedule was posted at 12:35 today, so very short notice, which must mean something.

Just checked and its showing new firmware of 1.00.12 (HDR) and 1.00.24 (HD) being broadcast from tomorrow

Edit: I mean today - it's late I'm off to bed

There is.

It looks like its only to hide the slapper channels. Nothing else.

I personally hope it reverts the screen format control back to how it was prior to the November release.

That should never have been altered, it worked.

Comment from Bob_Cat

Quote:
“There are no plans to roll back anything, we have made some improvements in the software stability over a couple of issues identified. There haven’t been swathes of faults with the products just a tiny percentage of product has had issues and I believe we have helped most of the consumers we have been in contact with. The majority of the issues were resolved with a reset of the box and we recommend that as a step if you are having issues with the product (this won’t erase your recordings, only your recording schedule and settings).

The primary function of this OTA is to support the coming adult services and also to provide performance improvements for interactive services using the broadband connection. We are still looking at a couple of edge cases and how they can be resolved and there may still be future updates as they become available.”

I must have missed that comment from Bob.

I saw others had performed a factory reset, with no positive result for this problem.

Hence I have not, plus I have lots of recordings scheduled (well the family have) and don't fancy setting them all again, in case I miss one.

I did phone Humax customer support about it, they were little or no help at all, said they would send me the old firmware by email, which as you may guess never arrived.

Some good news for HDR owners as first indications with the 1.0012 software indicate that you can now edit recording schedules generated by clicking on EPG.”

Doesn't seem to work for me...

I get "no new software found"- just checked and I am still on 0.11

Did you select Manual or Automatic update? It didn't work for me with Manual, but Automatic works.

It should get updated overnight if you do nothing. Or just use the Automatic update selection.

To use the Manual option you have to enter the Satellite, transponder etc. according to the instruction manual

You wait for 11 months and then two updates come along at once!

I think the update is to allow us to disable the adult channels, not enable them, as Bob_Cat seems to think!

I think that is down to how you interpret my phrase "support", the support in this case facilitates their launch by providing an option to hide the channels. Had I used the phrase "enable" it might have been more ambiguous but "support" is sufficient in this context. "Support" is a logistical phrase which does not imply the function of turning them on but only merely to act as a legal/legislative/moral aid to their launch.

Without the option to hide these channels there would have been a great deal of concern from consumers, but equally if we had put out and update that disabled them by default there would have been concerns from the broadcasters.
