An album of the decade would be something on par with the likes of Dark Side of the Moon, Thriller or Nevermind. I don't think any album by Jay-Z or Beyonce is anywhere near the level of those.

I'm not sure I understand the *reality check* Beyoncé *ahem* bit?
It does seem a bit cocky of him, but I suppose he may as well have pride in his work As long as he doesn't start acting like his mate, Kanye. Lol.

Kanye rocks.
Beyonce's album is better than Jay's.

Thanks for explaining. I'm a bit slow tonight I have to agree. I like some Jay Z songs, but I'm a huge Beyoncé fan.

I'm sure jay z was joking when he said that, if you see his interview he is very funny

I think he needs to have a sit down with his ego.

Maybe you're right. He could have joking. In print, things look worse than how they were meant.

The Blueprint = masterpiece. Definitely deserves to be in the discussion.

As is The Black Album and Reasonable Doubt (though that was from the last decade obviously). Still, not many artists can boast three "classic" albums.

People underate American Gangster, amazing album.

Blueprint is probably in the top 10 hiphop albums of the last decade but not the best.

Blueprint is certainly in the top 5 of the decade so for him to say that it is the best is hardly shocking. It's filled with great songs Girls Girls Girls, Takeover, Izzo(Hova) and Renegade.

Guess it isn't as popular in England but should still be appreciated for the quality it possesses.

Can't see any of Beyonce's 3 albums making a challenge towards it, maybe her latest one would be the closest runner but obviously it's hard to compare seperate genres.

Oh I really liked American Gangster too, a great concept album, just didn't think it reached the "classic" level. I actually also really like The Blueprint 3, that is certainly one of my favourite albums of this year.

I thought The Blueprint 2 was OK too, but I felt it was let down by being a double album with too much filler. Kingdom Come I was never really keen on, though it did have a few decent tracks on, including one of my Jay-Z favourites, Beach Chair.

The only other album I can speak on is Volume 2: Hard Knock Life. That's got some quality tracks on it.

Heart Of The City (Ain't No Love), Never Change and Song Cry are also stand outs.

To be fair the guy has a point, blueprint has done so much for hiphop and made the guy a living legend. You can listen to that album now and the songs are still relevant now it could be released tomorrow and it wouldn't sound outdated. Timeless classic

Spitting over other artists rehashed work does not a classic make.

Personally I prefer 'The Black Album' but seriously 'The College Dropout' is by far Kanye West' best album.

Totally agree! Thriller has provided the blueprint for many artists to work from whilst Dark Side Of The Moon - well their simply won't be another!
