Tiscali+ customers will also have the opportunity to watch all 6 films in High Definition. To find out more about Tiscali TV please visit http://www.tiscali.co.uk/tv/buy-tiscali-tv/

But I can't find the HD info - is it just me? It is a bit late

Exactly, but in Tiscali's email where they touted HD Harry Potter, the link leads to general subscription info.

It could be just the encouragement I need to by LCD/Plasma/LED TV

My internet is going dog slow again when my Tiscali + box is in standby. Wonder if the box is downloading HD content in the background?

I'm guessing so, I've just turned my box back on (to standby) after a few days away, and had happened to reset the modem too.

I have just checked the modem stats, and under the Bridge Video section, it is stating it has received 5.1 GB in the 5 hours since it was all turned back on, despite me not actually having the box on (only in standby)

Well I'm now up to 9 GB worth of content downloaded, all while the box has remained in standby, so I'm guessing multiple HD offerings, or high quality...

Did it work in HD?
Seems Tiscali, talktalk and AOL are trading as seperate companies until 2010, just renewed AOL with a good deal but was not aware I could have signed with Tiscali and got a free + box to replace Sky and is now too late!
Maybe talktalk will expand the TV service to talktalk and AOL customers in 2010!

Tiscali do not seem to be doing any advertising of their TV service, whereas I saw a big billboard poster for Virgin media which also has the films on VoD!

I reckon it would be "difficult" for Tiscali to mass-advertise its TV service when it is not nationally available. I wonder if TalkTalk has significant resources to invest - after all, the phone network is nationwide, not merely available to selected areas like cable (which in my road has been laid, I was told at the time of the disruption many years ago, but apparently nobody's got the dosh to commission it ).

Yes, I have watched the first two films in HD so far, definitely much sharper image than SD but no where near Blu-Ray quality, never seen Sky HD so cannot compare to that.

It ended up having downloaded 25 GB whilst in standby for the 6 movies.

Certainly worth checking the official Tiscali site for any additional queries you may have:

Wish you could set the times it downloads HD content as it disrupts gaming! As a workaround I turn the box on and tune it to BBC 1 to stop the downloads.

In order to sign up for email updates you have to have a Help section dedicated password - and to register for this you need a "Customer Code", which I've never been asked for or been aware of in the 9 years I've been a Homechoice/Tiscali member

It would have been nice for Tiscali to tell us directly HD was coming, rather than through a secondary web site. Now HD has been launched it would be nice for them to publish an up and coming list of content.

What do you think the chances of Catch-up TV going HD are ? that would really blow any competition away
