Eric Woolfson - Rip
tasker
03-12-2009
Very sad to hear the news of Eric Woolfson's death this morning, for those lucky enough to have heard and appreciated the Alan Parsons Project they will know how much of a musical genius this man was.

He also wrote with what would become 10cc, and penned songs for marianne faithfull and the tremeloes to name but two and worked with messrs Lloyd-Webber and Rice.

Sadly he will not be appreciated by anyone outside this circle. if you do nothing else today grab a copy of Eye In The Sky or any other Parsons album ofthat time and listen to how music should be written, played and produced.

Especially him doing the lead vocals on my all time favouriye Parsons song, Dont Answer Me from Eve.

RIP

That's I quite like some of Alan Parson's project stuff. May have to have a morning of listening to him.

Par for the course I'm extremely sorry to say.

It's a bit like the award winning sci-fi/fantasy author Robert Holdstock passing away a few days ago - he wasn't 'mainstream' so barely got a mention.

If it's populist and rubbish it gets loads of media attention, but if it's 'cult' yet brilliant it's ignored.
