Let's get a festive, Christmassy song to number one this year!

I think you'd all agree that the lack of festive Christmas No.1's over the last decade has been pretty soul-destroying. That's why the new single, "Must Be Santa", get's my vote (and all proceeds go to Crisis homeless which is pertinent this time of year)

Once you see the video to it you'll see why:

"Must Be Santa" by Bob Dylan

It is the catchiest song ever and costs 69p.

What's wrong with your other thread promoting the whiney ****ers single?
You don't need to spam the board with two threads.

Point taken, that thread died ages ago though! Have you not listened to the "Must Be Santa" track? His voice is no longer whiney (more croaky now!) and the production is absolutely second to none' it encapsulates Christmas, just like Spector did with his Christmas LP in the 60's.

Where do people get the idea that the Xmas number one used to be a Xmas song? It's rose tinted glasses.....

Since the charts began there have probably been between 12 to 15 (depending on your definition) songs that have been "festive" in the number one position. Thats 12 out of 57 years!!

OR less than 25%.

the only christmassy song that could maby keep x factor off the number 1 posistion this year is:

All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

it does well every year plus its already number 18 on itunes at the moment

What People Power is involved in following an equally cynical campaign just because it's Christmassy?

Look, I like Bob Dylan. I like the original. I was excited to listen to this song, but it didn't do anything for me. Just go away before you embarrass yourself. I wonder if it's possible to place a bet on this song NOT entering the charts?
