Don't know if last post worked as my account seems to be playing up tonight.

If I record neighbours on ch5 on a series link, it automatically defaults to record the signed version at 5.10am. Doesn't matter if I select the lunchtime or late afternoon showing, it still records only at 5.10am.

Anyone else experienced this or has any suggestions (otehr than setting timer manually)?

Do you have other programmes set up to record at the same time,if so the machine would record the later broadcast.

No. Only Neighbours set at moment. I've tried setting it several times by selecting it on the EPG and choosing record whole series but whatever showing I choose it still defaults to the early morning signed version.

Everything else works fine so I can't imagine it's anything wrong with machine.

We've just done a search using the "find" function to see what happens to the booking when we schedule. We couldn't get it to schedule the signed version without forcing it. We can only think that you have some conflict where you are scheduled to record two things at once and are watching something else.

"Find" Text:"Neigh" Select on an event and select it to record and you should see the subsequent events marked for recording. In our case it booked the 5:10 am tomorrow morning (because we selected on that deliberately) and continued with the 13:45 for all recordings going forward.

Only if there is a conflict will it divert to the late night one. There is some justification for the signed versions to have their own Series CRID because they are actually different content and the deaf community can't be assured that the signed version will be caught in this case (the reverse of your problem).

I notice your sig says Foxsat-Hd are you using this to record to a seperate recorder or is it a Foxsat-HDR ?. I have just checked my reservation list and todays Series Linked lunchtime CH5 recorded fine and the schedule has updated to the monday lunchtime transmission.

Just checked the series and prog crids. The only reason I can see why the early morning one would be picked up rather than the two daytime versions is if your box thinks there's a recording clash and selects the repeat with no clash.

Can you confirm how many cables you have connected and check diagnostics to confirm both tuners have a signal (assumimg it's a hdr of course)

Thanks also Bob for help. What was happening is that I was programming the machine in the evening. As the signed version at 5.10am is a day behind the main edition it was picking up that as the only option to record that particular episode. Then it reverts to the lunchtime show for future episodes.

Quite clever really, but confusing at first. This situation only occurs if you programme the machine in the evening as the signed version is the only way left of seeing the earlier episode.

Now that makes sense, confused the hell out of me the first time I set a series reservatoin from the epg and it picked up an earlier epsode than that I asked for
