Anybody else who is sick of X Factor constantly getting the Christmas Number 1, buy Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name after December 13th. Even if you aren't a very big fan of the song, STOP THE COWELL.

If we don't even try, we will never achieve.

I do my best every Christmas by buying no songs whatsoever. Do I get an award?

I'd rather people bought a song they liked, which i would imagine they do if they brought it then have RATM or any other "Lets Stop XF" fad. You say buy it even if you don't like it, whats the point, thats more wasteful and pointless than someone buying the winenrs song

Fair play for trying, but I don't see it happening I'm afraid. Last year Alexandra Burke sold more than the rest of the top 20 combined. And that was with at least two high profile facebook petitions - the Rick Astley one and the Jeff Buckley one.

Does anyone really care anymore? For the best part of 10 / 15 years, the Christmas #1 has always been some kind of charity single or some kind of competition winners single?

People take the mick out of good 'ol Cliff, but he sure could make a good Chrimbo record!

I can't see why anyone gets worked up about it. No one has to buy the Christmas no I, no one has to listen to it. Why would anyone who thinks they're too cool for Cowell care what's Christmas No 1?

It was quite exciting years ago seeing who would nab the number one spot at xmas.

It's all so predictable now. And Simon's songs are always ballads too.

Boring.

Whatever is no.1, I'm guessing it won't be the worst festive no. 1 we've ever had.

Mr Blobby had more talent in his little pink finger than any of those X Factor warblers.

We could always pretend that the X-Factor song doesn't count.

I am a huge fan of RATM anyway, so its no hardship for me supporting this.

It's going to be very boring in a few years time when they do a countdown of the Christmas number ones and play nothing but X Factor ballads from the last five years (This is the sixth series now?)

Does anybody know exactly how many Alexandra Burke sold last year?

Another possible Christmas number one is George Michael's new ballad 'December Song' which is George's first Christmas song since the Wham! hit 'Last Christmas'.

This could well beat Simon Cowell and co to the No 1 spot this Christmas

Complaining about the Christmas No I has become as traditional as anything else around this over-hyped time of year.

Wasn't the Christmas number one already reserved for absolute shite for years before The X Factor came along? Anyway, no matter who wins and what song they choose, I know I'd rather listen to it than Rage Against The Machine. I mean seriously "let's stop the crap getting to no1 by mass-buying some other crap" isn't the most effective plan.

Not sure about that! After all, his single has previously been voted the worst xmas number one of all time!

In an ironic twist a ballad version of this song will be released by the X Factor winner at Christmas. On the B side will be a madrigal version of 'Ace of Spades'.

Are you (hang on, my voice just cracked) referring to Mistletoe and Wine? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I would love to see something other than the x-factor winner get to number 1, just to stop Simon Cowell looking like someone who had drunk a hogshead of cream all the time.

Wasn't Gary Jules' Mad World a big surprise a few years ago? Though I have totally forgotten which big release it beat to number 1.

i thought it was all about Journey - Dont Stop Believing this year?

I'll buy both if it makes X Factor number 3

RATM are getting a bit of coverage. Both Sky News and NME have covered it on their sites (I know, nothing major but publicity is publicity).
