... Matthew
I never used to mind Anton but as it has got further on you do realise he doesnt quite cut the mustard.

and i think matthew and laila would look beeaaautifuul together (as they are both gorgeous)

any thoughts?

My thoughts are she's done very well dancing with Anton...albeit in a substandard series.

I must admit I do worry as much about Anton as his celeb when they do latin, but his ballroom is so beautiful.

Anton put his all into the Charleston and Laila was hardly dancing.
I know his Latin is generally suspect but in my opinion Laila is lazy and gets through by whinging and whining and Anton is dragging her through. Her Waltz was awful, the easiest ballroom dance and she was dragged through that.

There is no way of knowing if a different pro might have produced a different result, but you could speculate that about any of them.

I thought Anton was easily the best of the pros last Saturday.

Oh leave her alone.

What expertise Laila has lost in Latin she's gained in Ballroom.

I think that's the trade-off you get when partnered with Anton.

I had my reservations about this partnership for a while - I always liked them and wanted to see them do well - but I did question whether they were suited. I've come to the conclusion that whilst they are such opposites, this seems to work in a weird way. I wouldn't have Laila partnered with anyone else

I haven't witnessed any whinging or whining from Laila lately.

She was into the Charleston and she's well up for the Salsa and AS this week.

I think it's unfair to continue to beat her with the same stick when she's clearly made an effort to change her attitude.

From a purely aesthetic view I think Laila and Mathew/Ian would have looked better...well that`s not quite what I mean...lets just say they would have looked more like a believable couple....but having said that Laila and Anton were great on Saturday and as another poster has already said, Anton was by far the best pro last week....IMO of course.....Slightly off-topic..but I`am a bit torn at the moment....because I would love Ola to win but I`am not that fussed about Chris....but my favourite celeb is Laila but Anton does`t rock my boat.

I think Laila would LOOK better with Matthew. But I think that Laila and Anton get on like a dream, I know alot of people say it's false but just because they're not shoving it in our faces with pet names and cuddles doesn't mean they're not friends.

I think she's done just fine with Anton personally.
There again I don't really get the whole Matthew thing at all.

I am entitled to my opinion just the same as anyone else and your remark contributed nothing to the discussion.

If Laila had danced with Matthew she'd have had a much better chance but comparisons with Alesha would have been inevitable.

I really like her with Anton.
I wish people would lay off Anton sometimes, imo what he lacks in latin he more than makes up for in ballroom.

If she hadn't had Anton and her skill own in the ballroom it would have been an awful lot worse considering how little training they had.

My only reservation about the idea of her dancing is Matt is she might have still disliked/not been so good at the Latin regardless and perhaps it's better for her to be with someone who can really bring out the very best in what she is good at. Matt is of course excellent but I always think his Latin is stronger than his ballroom.

Well I think tonight gives you the answer to this which is an emphatic no! She's a poor dancer who doesn't even try hard enough - I believe there were missed sessions again this week - and her below aveage talent has been masked by the professionalism of Anton and his popularity with the British public. She should have been gone some weeks ago. And I'll bet poor Matthew is delighted he didn't get saddled with her because the same problems would have been there and he'd have been the target of the orchestrated press campaign.

After seeing that mess of a salsa, I'm wondering if she would have done better with a pro who specialises in Latin.

Anton is hopeless imo. With Matthew Laila would have been a contender for the final. At times tonight it was hard to tell who the pupil was I feel.

Absolute nonsense! And it wasn't just the salsa but the American Smooth was dreadful too. She isn't a very good dancer, she has no capacity whatsoever to remember routines and she doesn't train hard enough. End of story!

I don't think Laila would have done much better with someone else to be honest. When she's danced better, Anton has looked pretty good.

I also think they are very well suited, if not the best suited physically in the whole competition, and look striking together. Only possible exception is Jade and Ian. Both are quite slight and her exotic looks provide enough of a contrast to make it an interesting partnership.

However, I don't think she works hard enough, and is not talented enough, and is not interesting enough to go any further TBH.
