Still doesn't work for me. They had Gino in the bag, yep promote him well and keep his plate spinning but wouldn't it be in their best interests to make a star out of a big name that they hadn't landed yet e.g. George Hamilton or indeed any of the others that the public really warmed to.

You can't fake the other contestents opinion of him and how he reacted in the trials which are harded to edit favourably so based on these he seemed to me to be to be a genuinely well liked guy who was really funny. Isn't that the criteria that a lot of former contestents have won the show on?

So question to you, if you forget he was an ITV employee do you still think he was an unworthy winner even if he wasn't your favourite?

He wasn't just an ITV employee though, he works for loads of other channels.

There's been so many sour grapes in here that I'm sure Gino could whip up a delicious starter with them..lol

Get over yourselves, he won it fair and square.
His personality shone through from Day1, he kept all his campmates (and us) amused throughout, he was hardworking, a peacemaker, a rebel, a joker, a pervert, but also a naughty schoolboy with loads of charm.
Just what the camp needed, and a sure winner.

The right one won, there was no fix, stop reading more into it than there was.

I never voted for Gino, but I did like him. Kim was a game old bird, a bit too pantomime, but for a woman of her age to go through all that, she deserves praise and I voted for her. I don't buy into the 'Gino was destined to win as he works for ITV', he was a genuinely nice bloke, entertaining, funny, done his tasks without complaining, just a nice guy, so fair play to him.

Yep, 100% with you on this. Gino was not my favourite (silver Fox George would have had my vote if he hadn't walked grrrr) but I think he was a worthy winner and more deserved than Kerry Katona, Joe Pesquale, Biggins and Joe Swash by a long, long way.

Very true .. i honestly think people are blind if they dont see it was edited in a way to promote him. It's not fixed - i expect ITV had a plan to go forward with almost all of the ones in the jungle who had a realistic chance of winning before they were even signed to do it but people have to remember that TV is a business and that ITV obviously want a winner who ideally they can sign for projects and make more money with as the winner.

It doesnt make any sense for them to give someone all this publicity, make them their "king of the jungle" and then see them walk off to another channel and make them loads of money instead. It was same with Katona, Blackburn, Biggins .. ALL initially did more projects with ITV or their related companies.

I see the conspiracy theories are growing by the hour.

By tomorrow you'll have Gino on the Grassy Knoll, with a smoking gun in his hand.

How many times, and how many threads do I have to say this in.

IMO he won fair and square, there was no fix, get over yourselves and accept that the best person won.

I must be honest the coverage he's got on This morning has just been crazy.

I had to laugh the other day when linda barker Dared to say this series was 'boring' Phil and holly verbally jumped all over her making sure she retracted that remark.

Guessing Gino will take over hells kitchen next

If you believe that the edit cant be swayed to make someone look good I am afraid you are in denial.

People keep comparing Gino with Joe Swash, but the difference is that Joe is an actor and when he was on last year we hadn't seen what he was like as himself, so he could con us with his cheeky chappy act. Gino, however, doesn't seem any different to how he is on the cookery programmes I've seen him in, so it's probably safe to say that we're not going to see any drastic change in his behaviour.
