Without the live feed the celebs and the viewers are totally at the mercy of editors/ITV and only see what they want us to see and never really get to know what the celebs are really like.
I have heard that Christopher Biggins in the live feed was a very different character to the one who appeared on the main show.

They could have been 12 extra's off of Hollyoaks, and I wouldn't care, as long as they're entertaining! I mean, I had no idea who Gino was, and yet after the first episode he was my clear favourite!

Saying that, there were a few good'uns this year
