I'd rather see Chris in the dance off

They got it so wrong last year you would think they would have learned something.

The only "dance-off" they deserve to be in is the final

For you maybe but it would be a travesty as they are the best all rounders left in the competition. before you poor scorn on Ali's latin, i think you should have a look at the number of times her Salsa and Rhumba have been viewed on Youtube.

Yes what fun .. let's have a Chris and Laila final ... so that we can see some of the most mediocre dancing that Strictly has ever offered (which in a final would be frankly embarrassing).

As long as Chris comes out and pulls faces, Ola throws herself around a bit and Laila can finish a dance ... what more do we need to entertain us.

I would like to see CHris & Laila in the dance off, both the weakest dancers, I personally don't like Chris but he is the better of the two so he should win it. Ali & Ricky in the final

I do hope for a Chris v Ali v Ricky semi-final. Although I like Laila, she hasn't been consistent and Anton is a handicap as far as the Latin is concerned. Chris deserves to get at least as far as the semis and I wouldn't consider it a farce if he won although Ricky and Ali are better dancers.

I would rather see the weakest two dancers in the dance off - if that is Ricky and Ali tonight, fair enough

These would be great points if it weren't for the fact that Chris and Ola's rhumba has been viewed more times and their Paso about 4 times more than that.

So I dunno what that says about anyone's latin.

Ali still has problems with her arms when in hold, and her posture. Ricky makes mistakes which the judges and forum posters pick up on. Neither appear to lose marks for them.
Whoever gets to the final probably deserves to be there - because a combination of the judges and us (the voting public) have put them there!!

Can't we just accept that ALL of the couples have faults that shouldn't be there at the QF stage of the contest and enjoy the show?

John Sergeant's dances were viewed a lot too. I assume you're not suggesting that was due to their dance quality too

Neither Ali or Ricky are perfect. Ali seems unable to add anything apart from cute precision to a performance and that means she cannot sell the more 'earthy' dances. Ricky's pigeon toes and bandy knees mean he is never going to look good doing the ballroom.

My worry with a Ricky/Ali final is whilst we'll be able to appreciate their good dancing it will be so....well, dull. This is why this series desperately needs a three person final; you could then have the two technical dancers AND the person who gives the most entertaining performances. A far better balance.

It may well be but there again I'm not voting for them either. However, I do concede, not even begrudgingly, that they are very, very popular and my favourite has about the same chance of winning as I did getting my numbers up on the Euromillions last night without a ticket!

I says that Ali's latin has been viewed more than her ballroom, which is considered her forte. I wasn't directly comparing her with Chris but O.K. his rhumba has been viewed more (although Ricky far exceeds either of them) and Ali's salsa has been viewed three times more often than Chris's. I admit the paso was not a good dance for her. Overall, Ricky and Ali have performed better than Chris.

Agreed that not all viewings on Youtube are for the quality of the dancing. I was just trying to make the point that Ali's latin is stronger than some people on here like to think.

I too would like a three person final but if that's not to be then I'd probably opt for Ali v Chris although I don't find either her or Ricky dull.

I would enjoy a dance off that the judges don't approve of. But I was just thinking that if Ricky & Ali were in the dance off the judges would surely save Ali. But then I remembered that Darcey Bussel is one of the judges tonight! I suppose that could make the outcome of a dance off less predictable - and at least Len won't have a deciding vote.

I think people misunderstand the point of this thread. It's about the judges and how they would react! I know I'm a Chris fan, and I know Ali and Ricky are great dancers (so depending what they are doing tonight, they should not be in the DO). Anyway, it's no good debating who should or should not go out tonight, we haven't seen the dances yet. For all we know, both Ricky and Ali could fall on their bottoms or forget their routines (unlikely but possible - I'm sure people would then suggest they should go through on past merit). Anyway, back to the Ali vs Ricky DO, imagine the judges' faces and the foam coming out of their mouths. It would be priceless.

Has to be said it is quite entertaining when the judges spit their dummies out. The Ali/Zoe DO was great for that. Was a bit sad Zoe went but it was mint watching them all act outraged at the result!

This thread isn't really about how the judges would react. We all know that very well and we saw it with Ali and Zoe. it's a knocking Ali and Ricky thread.
