With the couples doing two dances from now on, does anyone else think they should perform their weakest scoring routine in the dance off ?

I can't see any attraction in doing that and it would give Laila (and I'm not supporting her) a disadvantage as her AS promises to be great whereas her salsa is likely to be a disaster.

Don`t see the point in them doing two routines <apart from filling time> if the couples only have to concentrate on getting one up to a good standard.

Suppose I`m still annoyed with the Austin result last year tbh where I thought his two routines on average were better than Lisa`s two. Lisa/Brendan seemed to concentrate on her best routine whereas Erin/Austin tried to do two good ones.

I think they need to do something differenct to stop people like Brendan putting extra work into a ballroom to ensure a dance off win.

I do too but I'm not sure having the couples dance their weaker dance is necessarily the answer. (Not that you were saying that!) However, it's probably better than we have at the moment and would expose those who are obviously specialists in one discipline and pretty mediocre (rubbish? ) in the other.

There should be no dance off now - trust the public at the final 5 stage and thus remove all talk of conspiracies!

If Chris goes out tonight - which he could do - even if he is (as reported he was last week) 40% ahead of the others it would turn the show into a farce (especially after what nearly happened to Tom and did happen to Gethin.).

Absolutely agree with you - as has been said, doing the stronger dance in the dance off negates the raison d'etre of 2 dances at this stage.

Just throwing this in....on DWTS if they have a dance off they have to do a different dance altogether from the one they did in the show.

That`s not a bad idea at all ! would save us having to watch a bad routine twice - although last week it was good to see Ricky improve so much for the dance off with his r `n` r routine

I quite like that idea. It plays to both couples' strengths rather than their weaknesses (which is what I don't like about having the couples dance their weaker dance in the dance off.)

It does mean more work for the couples though who have to spend time choreographing, learning and perfecting a dance that they might not even have to do.
