  • I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
Would you watch if Ant and Dec left?

I 'm not sure I would... they make the series for me

Only if they were replaced by Justin and Colin!

I've watched the US version and it is pi$$ poor all thanks to the dull hosts.

If Ant and Dec hosted it, I'd watch it.

They make it light-hearted - the way it should be. Something to pass the time.

Other hosts would attempt to make it into a serious show.

No way. Justin would be crying after every sentence. They would depress me.

I'd watch if it wasn't Ant and Dec, but only if the replacements were just as irreverent towards the celebs as they currently are.

I don't think I'd watch - their comments on the celebs make me laugh more than the celebs themselves.
Although I'm sure one of these days one of them is going to get a whack when they stand there wetting themselves with laughter while some poor celeb is gagging on Kangaroo bits!

I'm quite bored of IAC to be honest, and have had trouble watching most of this series. I kept forgetting it was on, which probably says how much I thought it was essential viewing.

Perhaps that's partly down to my slight boredom with Ant and Dec. They are pretty good still, and occasionally they can be very funny, but I know 99% of the gags before they arrive now. So my "lol"s at them are quite rare these days. They've almost got a bit too polished at it and are now a bit lazy, rolling out the same old gags.

To be honest though, I can't think anyone who could do the format better, off hand. Alot of ITV2 presenters they used shows how ropey most of competition is when it comes to laughs. Maybe Peter Kay and someone he could play off, as I remember the week he presented the "Big Breakfast" years ago, when he had me hysterics when I didn't even know who he was, but he doesn't need a presenting job these days.

And the nice thing about them is they treat everybody the same. Even if they have a laugh at them they don't do it in a bad way.

I'd probably still watch but I love ant and dec. Their reactions to the trials are hilarious

That's why I watch IAC. I found last years show at times poor, and I found myself looking forward to ant and dec's bit to get some entertainment lol!

If they aren't on it, I don't think I would watch it

They're unique and you couldn't replace them. I feel I'm watching a show within a show, the Ant and Dec Show, and it's very well scripted. Either they are great writers themselves or they have great writers writing specially for them, because the same wit isn't evident on the aftershow.

Without them, or any comedy at all, the American show was pretty dull and serious. The Americans see this as a cuthroat competition whereas the Brits see it as Carry On Up The Jungle. And long may it remain.

I don't think Ant and Dec will ever give this up, because it's a dream gig for them. They've tried to get into films and failed, so they're not going to outgrow the show the way Russell Brand outgrew Big Brother.

I probably would still watch but it would be a huge loss to the programme and who would they replace them with>. I have watched a bit of the ITV2 stuff but its pretty appalling and i cannot stand anyone on it

If Joe Swash took over from them I'd definitely be watching!

The show is best watched by using the 'skip' button when Ant an Dec are on. Their humour is just so predictable.

I imagine their pay is one of the reasons ITV are having financial problems.

No. Like Carrierbag, I've struggled with this year's IAC and have enjoyed Ant and Dec far more than the show itself. The trials are so so samey - every year they're more or less exactly the same. This year the 'celebs' weren't terribly interesting. I liked a couple of them but they all seemed to lack personality except for George, Gino and that terrible Kim who just annoyed me. At least with Ant and Dec we got some entertainment. They do kind of trot out the same old gags.. but they do it so well! and I like their gentle p***taking of the contestants.
