Converting a .avi file to play on the Foxsat-HDR using AV2HDR
I've tried to convert a .avi video to play on my Foxsat-HDR using Total Video Convertor to create a .ts from the .avi and then using AV2HDR to create the required 3 files for the Foxsat. The stream info displayed by AV2HDR suggests that the audio stream is within the specification that it requires but yet I get no audio. The Foxsat reports 'No Audio Stream'. The intermediate .TS file plays perfectly with both DVBViewer and VLC.
Anyone got any pointers to why there's no audio ? |

Graham,
AV2HDR only reports 1 Audio stream on the input file and there isn't an option to choose an audio stream in the Foxsat-HDR. AV2HDR reports the output audio stream to be the same as that input. The output from AV2HDR won't play in DVBViewer nor in VLC but the video plays OK on the Foxsat-HDR. |

The audio could be in a format that neither the STB nor the software can identify. It might be a format the box can decode but if it can't identify it or find it then it can't decode it. A TS has a number of ways in which an elementary stream can be identified and my guess would be that is the cause of the issue.

ive noticed on a lot of the files ive converted have dts audio. which works fine with my AV reciever, but the HDR doesnt support it. So you have to transcode the audio to DD 5.1 before you run it through AV2HDR.
on another note, i noticed the HDR supports Dobly Digital EX which is 7.1 nice!

Hi All
I have tried using AV2HDR, but I too get no audio. I ran the original video through TSmuxer and the audio was missing after that stage ( to check I played the muxed file through VLC Media player) and it was silent. I dont get the audio options that graham has mentioned in previous posts (maybe I'm missing them. Where are they?) Naturally enough the sound is still missing after the file has been through AV2HDR. Any ideas appreciated Thanks Robert |

Hi Graham
Assuming the track you refer to is the second section down. This is what it says: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\TESTVIDEO\VIDEO_TS\gardendogsVIDEO_TS.m2ts MPEG-2 Robert |

Frame rate: 25 Robert when you add the file to TSMUXERGUI you should get a minimum of two tracks in the window marked source file Track 1 is the video and track 2 is the audio. Without an audio track there won't be any sound. The above message about frame rate is normal. Will vlcplayer play the original file with sound ? Try the file from this posting http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...&postcount=601 |

When I open the muxer and "add" my file I only get one line.
I have noticed now that I get the following message: "Unsupported format Some tracks not recognised. This track was ignored. File name: D:\video_TS\video.TS\video_TS.vob." This is strange as when I tried the Robin Hood scene on the VLC player that was silent too, and the same message appeared when I tried to Mux it. I'm a bit confused now Robert EDIT: When I try to mux a BBC Michael Palin Video, I do get two tracks MPEG2 & AC3 |

Thanks for trying. My new camera is due to arrive in the next few days, and I have a feeling, and I'm hoping it will work ok with the muxer and AV2HDR. Thanks again Robert |

I'm getting audio drop outs on replaying files i've converted and uploaded with av2dvr. Its fine for a couple of minutes then I get 2 silent blips within a few seconds of each other then its ok again for another couple of minutes. One of the files I watched back has this and also a progressive slipping of audio sync by about 1 sec every 5 minutes.
they start as avi or mkv, converted to mpeg using winx hd video converter deluxe, converted to .TS etc using av2hdr and uploading using the av2hdr ftp through the custom firmware. I'm using default setting in both these converters. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? |
