May be it's one that reminds you of a painful breakup?

Perhaps it's one that makes you cry with joy for whatever reason?

And every time I hear it, I get a lump in my throat

Funny and beautiful how much can evoke such emotion...

The song from Titanic. Really cant remember the name but it always used to make me miserable and still does if, and when, I hear it.

I first heard it shortly after someone very close to me died, and it absolutely broke my heart. I still can't listen to even the first few bars without crying.

The Verve's 'The Drugs Don't Work' also makes me a bit teary-eyed, just reminds me of sad times I suppose.

I wouldn't say that makes me cry but i adore it and it hits me a little. My fav line is "im gonna smile cos i deserve to" which i think is the most powerful line in the song. And i try to tell myself that whenever anything bad happens to me.
