It was all the hype...........

Barcy Dustle this and Darstardly Bustles that.

The BBC made it seem like the second coming the way they were promoting her.

It was like me with my first sexual encounter, all expectations and a complete disappointment.

That could explain a lot.

She did seem a bit humourless.

Trust me on this one, 99.99% of men are a complete failure on the first encounter.

The other 0.01% lie out of their back teeth.

She brought zilch to the programme - but was anyone expecting anything different?

She reminded me of Ruthie Hensall on Dancing on Ice. Cold and aloof.

I did, but I am ever the optimist.

I don't even like Len anymore, the judges seem to think they are the reason for the show.

It's only contestants like Chris H, Lefty Philips, John Sergeant etc, that make this show.

For me, it's now all about entertainment. Didn't use to be but it is now.

Bussel = boring

Henshall = heinous!

Darcey is a dull panelist I'm afraid. Karen would have brought some sparkle to the panel.

So the two lessons you should take from this are:

That may be a little too much information.

I was disappointed in Darcy, I had such high hopes for her too
Not only was she boring, she seemed bored herself - quite indifferent to it all.

Perhaps she is not used to less highbrow occasions?

Bring back Arlene!

It was a decision I never really understood from the outset. But I was willing to see how it worked - perhaps she'd really critique very technical aspects of posture or finish or something. But she didn't come up with anything that the others couldn't have said.

On the plus side, it made me realise that Alesha's comments have become more confident and credible over the series! (Not her marking, mind, but I did feel like Alesha has in some way justified her seat there (I'd still prefer Arlene or Karen though)).

I completely agree. No idea why they bothered or what they thought it would bring.

And there I think we have it.

A completely character less person who has much in common with the wet fish.

I do not think I have ever seen anyone with less personality who has had such a build up by the Beeb.

Must be the age we live in......dumbing down and mediocrity rules OK?

Darcey is/was amazingly dedicated to her dance career.

A true dance legend but perhaps too high brow (cold) for Saturday night TV.

Wasn't overly impressed with Darcy tonight. I think put her and Alesha together and they still don't come up with a quarter of what Arlene brought to the panel. Think this whole "experiment" by the BBC has failed dismally. Bring back Arlene!

I have to agree, she didn't bring anything to the panel and just seemed really cold. And people complained about Alesha being a judge, but she knows more about ballroom dance than Darcy does.

Meh ... I like Darcy generally but haven't seen any signs of the insight she brings to the final stages. I was hoping for a bit more technical pickiness a la Arlene. Must do better next week.

I admire Darcy Bussell for what she has achieved. But she looked really uncomfortable there tonight. She has no experience as a "tv personality" so I'm surprised she agreed to do it really.
