Should we abandon the public vote next week - it will be overridden by the judges!

After tonights convenient judges voting patterns which helped avoid an Ali vs Ricky dance off no doubt next week Ali will top the judges vote to ensure a Ricky vs Chris dance off.

Chris goes home - despite topping the public vote for weeks.

Ali has won this now - and the public cannot prevent it!

Chris fans will have to be clever and put some votes Ricky's way

Perhaps Bruce and Tess should say

if you want to save Chris from the dance off vote for Ricky!

Is crazy.. the system is totally flawed. It could be that Chris wont be able to be saved despite topping the vote ??????????????

Surely they HAVE to scrap the dance off ????

Why were tonight's voting patterns 'convenient'? Ricky was the best, Ali next, Chris next and Laila worst (by some distance). Isn't that what the judges scores showed

Exactly ianswaiting.

Tonight also showed that no one is safe. I really thought Ricky would be safe from the dance off.

Last week somebody posted a BBC statement

"The dance-off stops at the quarter-final"

Who posted it, and where is the source? This is important to fans.

Perhaps Chris could improve his dancing and save himself that way?

Just an idle thought.

Well the public gave Ricky the fewest votes - and in the end I bow to the public's decision as there are hundreds of thousands of them vs 5 judges.

In the end I always go for a democractic decision than an unelected clique deciding how things are done!

In your opinion.

Chris has been topping the public vote for weeks - so in their eyes he is the most entertaining dancer!

If you want to watch the world latin ballroom championships I suggest you watch something else - this is an ENTERTAINMENT show!

Exactly. Ricky obviously doesn't have public support (which surprises me).

To answer the OP, the public can stop Ali winning this by voting for whoever is against her in the final (if she even gets that far).

Yes - but Chris is topping the vote!

If Ali wins by topping the votes next week and in the final I have no complaints.

If Ali wins because Chris goes out next week in the dance off when he topped the public vote her win will be tainted.

Anyone who thinks after tonight Ricky can win this is insane - he has no support and the little he did fell away because of his arrest.

We don't know that Ricky had the least votes - only that he had less than Chris and Ali. We have no idea whether he had more or less than Laila.

The clique may be unelected but they are infinitely more qualified to decide than the hundreds of thousands who make up the public. On your reasoning, given that the public own 70% plus of some banks there should be a democratic vote to make every decision concerning how they are run. How much do you know about running a bank?

I wonder if the audience reaction will give them serious reason to re-think. It looked set up for a 2 man final between Ali and Ricky (not saying that they aren't the best dancers od there is any conspiracy just that they are the ones the judges do obviously see as the best dancers) but the studio audience may make them reconsider. They nearly took the roof off both times for Chris, indeed when he was being introduced too...think there might have been a riot if the went out - look at the booing for their samba marks. Hearing and seeing that in the flesh, and knowing the voting figures, may make them decide to scrap those plans and belatedly (and conveniently) end up with a 3 man final. Or indeed they may decide on the 2 man option but now be keen to see Chris in it...I'm sure they can 'influence' the judges order if they wish.

So Darcey and Alesha are now professional ballroom dancing experts - please!

Do we know for sure Chris is topping the votes?

I don't think her win would be tainted at all, although i still want to see all 3 of them in the final.

I presume the OP is a Chris supporter, but unfortunately this rather misleading thread is likely to be counter productive if anything, because it may convince some people there really is no point in them voting for Chris next week, when actually there is if Ricky tops the judges votes again.

Someone earlier on the week posted that he was getting 40% of the votes above the next person. I think that it quite a convincing following.

I for one will not be watching the final if it is Ali v Ricki. I am sure I can use my time up in a much more interesting way.

The problem is that the only way to prevent this would to have had an Ali/Ricky DO tonight to get rid of one of them. I don't think that would have been right.

If there had been no DO tonight and it had been solely down to the public vote (which I think it should be at this point), it's possible that Ricky would have gone. I think that would have been terrible considering he was the best dancer tonight.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a solution.

Darcey is a dance expert and the most important element of any dance is musicality. Darcey is perfectly capable of judging that. Alesha is very well qualified by experience. I would not for one moment suggest that there are not others who would have more credibility and experience than either of them because obviously there are lots but I would still say that they both are more qualified than the public who seem to vote on anything and everything from who has the biggest mouth to who had a walk on part in some obscure late night comedy show in the 80's.

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone gets a 'bye' to the final, making it a three person final. Votes would be carried over.

Wasn't that from the papers or something though? I dunno, I'm taking it with a pinch of salt.

Firstly, I thought you just said that the dancing wasn't important?

Secondly, the only professional ballroom dancing expert on the show is Len. But the judges do know far more about dancing than the vast majority public.

Haven't you watched previous series of SCD. The GBP favourite wins not always the best dancer. I am afraid you will have to accept that.
