Ricky danced superbly this evening so I do not understand why he isn't getting the votes. What is there not to like?

And Ali and biran leave me a little bored. Lovely girl that she is. I just think meh. Love Chris and Ricky is the best dancer for me. Everyone has there own opinion. But down to the pure dancing Ricky is the best. But this isn't a dance competition.ir

Whne they came back and Tess said "What a comeback from you guys, in the dance off last week and now top of the leader board" I couldn't help but wince and think "Hold on love. There's a very good chance they could be again."

No - Alesha was in exactly the same position in series 5, top of the leaderboard in a four couple quarter final, went into the DO then got through first the following week. So it still could be a lot closer than we think

I agree completely - and as my favourite had to withdraw due to injury I think I can safely claim neutrality.

I can understand the popularity of Chris and Ola; they're not the best dancers but they have fun and have captured the public imagination. Tonight, Ricky W and Natalie L were head and shoulders above everyone else tonight, so deservedly topped the leader board.

Tonight's dances did not suit Ali's English Rose persona; she didn't really deliver in either the tango or the samba, which made her 2nd position with the judges about right: but I'm at a bit of loss to understand how she leapfrogged Ricky in the public vote.

She's a sweet but a bit dull and there is the all important selling point of: the romance. Ricky is sweet but a bit dull and there is no selling point.

Surely dance is a combination of technical ability and personality? Ricky leaves me cold and Natalie leaves me even colder.

And whether this is a dance competition or not is down to the individual viewer. I do think some people can be very snobby about this show.

It is what we want it to be and we can like who we want!

You have a point there - the VTs don`t help their cause much either - Ola and Chris having a coffee and sandwich first compared to Ricky and Natalie concerned about nailing their performances etc etc.,

That is a major point and it isn't helped by the fact that Ricky is in Liverpool and that he works so training has to be very intense and ITT and the VT's don't have a selling point with them. And maybe there isn't one. They could be all work work work.

They were so good tonight and still finished in the dance off, I feel really sorry for him.

I didn't get any of the cocky thing, he seems like a nice guy and he's a good dancer, such a shame.

That's such a good observation.

Why do the editors persist in giving VTs that portray Ricky & Nat as ultra competitive? (I hope people suss it's all in the edit)

Just saw Jill's comment and she's spot on - Gethin was top! I just assumed it must have been Alesha! So ignore my comment!

At my age I'm experienced at judging character and Ricky is not cocky IMHO. I think he's a very nice bloke who is delighted to keep going through. Most important of all he's the best dancer. I don't know what else people want.

I don't think it's a case of not liking Ricky, but one of not liking him enough to pick up the phone and vote for him or prefering someone else.

It's a shame as he was streets ahead of the rest tonight but that's the nature of the show.

It's no good being an excellent dancer if you can't connect with the audience as well. And that's not something you can fix or force. People either take to you or they don't.

Just cant warm to Ricky and Natalie, even his dancing doesnt inspire me. I do like Ali and Brian and their dancing, but Cola are the ones who nail it for me. And judging by the response to them viewers agree.

Would love to see Ali and Chris in the final.

I believe this is a Freudian clue. An appreciative fan describes "two fantastic dances", not "a fabulous dancer". I believe fans reporting Matthew Cutler dancing would have used the second description, i.e. fans warm to him as a man as well as his performance.

Ricky has a problem about connecting with the public. Note to Ricky, do not run for parliament.

Would you like Chris and Ola to come to your Xmas dinner -- or Ricky and Natalie?

Too true Tawny, Ricky is a great dancer it is Natalie that is his problem he would be streets ahead if was with, say Katya, or Ola!! I like him!

I agree that Natalie seems to be a large part of the problem, something about her that stops me and others wanting them to do well. Maybe partly because we do not know her. I remember thinking that Ola was quite cold and competitive during her first series, now I think she is a sweetie, but probably no less competitive.

I think the other problem with Ricky is that from the start he has been so good, and whereas when I watch Chris I am willing him to do well and nervous for him, this doesn't apply to Ricky.

It is a shame and he must feel negative that his public vote is not as high as Ali and Chris, but I am not sure if there is a "solution" for this for him to find.

I'm not a Ricky fan. He's a great dancer but I find their routines very forgettable aside from that awesome QS a few weeks ago. It annoys me to be honest that he's so good but the routines rarely seem to come alive.

But...I think he could still win it. If they pull out some great routines that entertain as much as show off his ability it could sway people to pick up the phone. He's clearly the better dancer, they just need to get the fun factor.

But then I thought he would still outperform Ali in the voting so what do I know

Being older than other people does not mean you are automatically right, it is your opinion - I could say the fact I am quite young means I can speak for the younger generation consistently, but I don't. Opinion is subjective. Get over yourself.

To be honest, it's chris who's starting to get cocky really.

Katya to me comes across a bit of a coldhearted woman, not likeable at all, plus, the more I see of her in pro routines, she just isn't up to the same standard as the other female pros.
