It appears that we are not going to get the best Dancer winning this year I wont be surprised is Cola Cube wins which will be a disgrace. That man Chris is getting far to cocky.

I hope people realise that this is a Dancing competition.

It's also an entertainment show and the public have a right to choose who they want.

Oh here we go

Chris is not cocky at all. The reason people vote for him is because hes a nice guy enjoying the experience. Did you not see the article in the paper today saying how popular he is with the judges, the crew, the other celebs, the dancers etc because he actually is genuinly nice?

So how's about you just get over it? There are enough Chris bashing threads on here.

The voice of reason!

Why are some people so anal about this? Its not the world championships!

The public will not get their chosen winner - Len will.

Chris will go home next week even when he tops the public vote - because of the farcical semi final dance off.

So you will get your 'dancer' Ali winning in the end - due to the Beeb's contempt for the voting public!

Well next week if Ali tops the score board the voting will be:

01. Ali 3 2 5
02. Chris 1 3 4
03. Ricky 2 1 3

With Chris and Ricky bottom 2 and Chris out, however if he makes the final some of the casual viewers who may vote once a series may support the best dancer, I think Ali still has a pretty good chance of winning.

We don't know yet.

I was gutted that R&V didn't win last year.

Well, I sort of expected it I suppose.

But Tom was good, he did an ace foxtrot, up there with the best, and he was generally good as well as fun (although he wasn't the best).

Chris isn't up to Tom's standard - I could bear him winning.

I was very unhappy about Gough, I thought both the others were seriously better than him - but his ballroom was very good.

Chris, I hope, I desperately hope, will up his game. Or he won't win.

But then, for me, the dancing is really, really what matters.

And I love Chris, and I don't love the others.

I ADORED Rachel and Vincent though. And their dances blow this lot away.

I like Chris' dancing it may not be as technically good as Ali and Ricky but it is certainly more enjoyable than Ricky's.

Too right previous poster - Chris is well loved and the thing that lets Ricky down is his self obsessed dance partner Natalie who makes everything all about herself and no one else. So please for the love of God stop bashing Chris - he is very popular with everyone on Strictly and that's a good thing too.

Is it?

Why are non-experts asked their opinion in the form of the public vote then?

Because the show is as much about personality and popularity as it is about technical ability.

What makes you think Len wants Ali? If there had been a Ricky v Ali dance off tonight there is no doubt he would have picked Ricky so he can't like her that much can he.

I don't care who wins, as they "win" just a tatty looking trophy.
But Chris Hollins silly faces are really getting to me now and he's a rubbish dancer compared with Ali and Ricky.

He's "the new Julian Clary."

I don't think it's helpful to state things like this as being a fact. Next week if they remain in the same order with the judges and the public they would all have four points and Chris would get through.

I'll vote for whom I wish - and I imagine the rest of the public will as well, be it for Ricky, Ali or Chris!

For me, Ricky is a fine dancer but he doesn't come alive on the dancefloor. I can only think that, given he's been in the dance-off twice, there's a good number of voters who haven't connected emotionally with him at all.

For example, an awful lot of people like to see emprovement in dancers. Dare I use the, er *cough* J-word? Coz he ain't had one!

Absolutely.

And it's important to ignore who the better dancer is, and focus on how fluffy their personality is.

Erm, how could anyone miss the fact that it's a dancing competition, really?
I think the idea is to vote for people when you enjoy watching them dance!

Bear in mind this happens quite a lot.

Darren in year 4, Tom last year, and now - it seems inevitably - Chris.

Being the best dancer gets you through to the final. It doesn't get you to be a winner.

I was behind Jade and Ian before their forced departure, but since they have gone it is Chris and Ola who have been the pleasant surprise week after week. They bring more energy and enthusiasm to the floor than the rest of them put together.

I don't care if Chris isnt as technically as good as the others, he is still far more enjoyable to watch from where I am sitting.

EDIT to say; he has made far less errors than the supposedly better dancers too, but not being so naturally talented, Chris doesnt get away with mistakes on the odd occasions he makes them.

I don't often post here and I'm not 'following' any particular person, but I don't see Chris as cocky.

I find one thing that he does very good, and that is when he gets voted in, he always says 'thank you'. I think that is the action of someone who is un-cocky and grateful to his supporters.

He's not a brilliant dancer, but then, as previous posters have stated, neither were some of the past winners.

And, let the public vote and this is what you get!!!

And?

It won't be the first time, and I doubt it will be the last.

No it isnt.

The IDSF Rising Stars Open Standard is a dancing competition.

The IDSF Senior I Open Latin is a dancing competition.

The National Capital Dancesport Championships is a dancing competition.

The World Professional Latin American Championship is a dancing competition.

This is an entertainment programme.

Well I'm supporting Ali & Brian but Chris certainly deserves to have got this far and could indeed win. It's not as though he's hopeless like Chris Parker and I don't find him cocky at all.

Alesha too, I love her much more than Matt Di A but he was a better dancer.

Chris winning is like John and Edward winning the X Factor .. they were able to 'sell' their performances too .. but they were mediocre singers to say the least

It's embarrassing to see him get through over Ricky ... and if there is a 'one trick pony' in the competition, it's not Ali .. it's Chris.
