As an Ali supporter, I must say I sympathise with this view rather than the OP's.

A fix would have been the judges conspiring to put Ali out of sight and let Ricky knock Chris out in a dance off.

Equally a fix would be if they now sent everyone through to the final, as the "best dancer" vote would be split and Chris the certain winner.

If Ricky fans can bring themselves to vote for Ali in the final, and the annual "final tourists" who haven't followed the series are thrilled by an Ali VW and a Rumba where she finally brings herself to climb all over Brian in public, then she might have a chance.

Might.

But it's better for the future of the series to let the public's "dodgy dancing" favourite win, than to be seen to manoeuvre him out.

How can it be a fix when the celebrity who gets the most public votes wins?

That's how every phone in contest works, from Eurovision to X Factor.

Sour grapes from the minority who want a particular celebrity to win instead of the one with the largest public vote.

Absolutely fair and above board. Well done the BBC.

I couldn't care less who wins. I want to enjoy watching an entertaining dance show where the public vote for the winner.”

I would have agreed with all of that if they had said from day 1 the rules instead of changing them the week before the final.

Well they may have yet more tricks up their sleeves. They may give the judges the deciding vote in the final. The rule changes may not be over yet.

That's BBC stupidity for you.

There have been a few threads where forum members have done the maths...Chris could have received 99% of the vote and still been in the Dance off.....If I`am honest this is`t about Chris. It`s about letting the public decide the finalists and eventual winner....and not the judges via a dance-off....I personally think the Dance off is a good idea but for the last few weeks of the competition it should be the public who decide who stays....Basically the BBC should have followed the format of the x-factor....ie...Judges have the power of veto...including dead lock(public vote decides) until we are left with the 5 or 6 contestants when all the power is then left in the hands of the public vote.

I dont get the BBC for supporting such a poor dancer other than the fact he's BBC employee.

But worse is the public voting for bad dancers. What the hell is that about. Lunacy. Its telling the BBC not to bother getting in anyone who remotely has the chance of being a dancer. They might think its fun for voting for somone as bad as Chris but they'd tire of that if everyone was that level in future years. At this rate thats all the BBC will be able to get for future series.

Actually the BBC are not supporting one of their employees but they are dealing with a potential problematic situation (e.g. dance off with three couples is not a good idea). However, I don't mean to be disrespectful but there are more than enough threads on the same topic (take your pick I counted at least 6 or 7). Could you not just have posted in one of them?

Jay Hunt who controls BBC1 is not interested in finding the best dancers, but who is going to give her the best ratings.

It's a light-hearted entertainment show, get over it!

Neither do I really...but if you were genuinely interested in making a serious point about it, I think you would have picked a much better (or worse) example than Hollins.

Oh dear that is probably me, I'm sorry I thought it was an entertainment show where our votes mattered. I'm the sort of person who can't sing a note but loves music and can't dance a step but loves watching dances. It is usually understood among my family and friends that if I love a dance the judges won't and if I drop off to sleep during a performance the judges love it! This year I started out a Craig supporter, I also voted for Ricky G at one point and am now supporting Ricky Whittle.
To be honest I'm old enough to remember the original Come dancing and it bored me, If this show just became about dancing I just won't bother!

Sorry OP but, as a person who "wasted" money on Christopher Parker, Julian Clary and Peter Schmichael I can understand why. Mind you, Chris isn't as "bad" a dancer of any of them and imho he's nowhere near as endearing as Peter. However, I do respect the choice of other FMs but, I sincerely hope a lot of the people championing him this series don't do a James Jordan and change their tune completely when another mediocre dancer threatens their favourite or in some cases their relationship with their bookie.

I also don't believe the relationship between him and Ola is genuine, you can see in her face how annoyed she gets with him. The rest is window dressing.

But hey ho, the great british public will decide.”

Sorry but if you are trying to suggest that Chris is being edited to look like a nice guy then you are way off the mark. When his father, John Hollins, managed Swansea City, he was a regular visitor to the city and I know of a few people who met him, before he was a presenter who said what a nice, genuinely funny guy he is. Also, we have quite a well known disabled supporter who is a girl in her early twenties. Even though John Hollins left us a long time ago, Chris still sends her birthday and Christmas cards and photos and autographs from all the sports people he interviews. A thoroughly lovely man and a wonderful entertainer. The truth.

BB doesn't have judges, but the housemates have a say in who reaches the final.

What do DOI and DWTS do?

Dancing with the Stars have scrapped the Dance Off. However, on Dancing on Ice, the skate off remains.

I like Chris and I like Ali and don't mind which of them wins. Not so keen on Ricky Whittle - I don't know why but he leaves me cold - even though John Barrowman thought he was "hot". Sorry but I can't take a man seriously who wears his pants over his trousers - or shows his pants when he wears his trousers!

He may be a one trick pony, but at least he hasnt made a major balls up like the cock up kid did a couple of years ago.And just remember how very very popular he was
