Absolutely agree, but not sure it has ever really been any different.
I can understand that people who are not interested in dancing, find Chris and Ola entertaining; in fact few would probably disagree, and they certainly have a chemistry between them, but the simple fact is Chris can't dance. Even his charleston, which was probably his most popular, it was Ola who did the dancing while Chris mosrtly just ran around carrying her.
In the quarter-final, his samba was appalling, about 3 samba steps and a lot of walking; and his waltz posture was almost as bad, with dreadful head position - and those ghastly faces!!!!!!
Ali is a good dancer, but I've got bored with her. Len was sort of right about her being a one-trick pony. Her samba was good step-wise, but she doesn't seem to have the ability to grasp any of the technique of the Latin.
Ricky, on the other hand, is a great all-rounder. In the ballroom, he can lead Natalie, has a great sense of timing, and has even mastered the body sway that takes somes dancers years to learn. In the Latin - apart from occasional sloppy 'spare' arm, he is only 1 in entire series who has learnt any technique.
Sad: fact that he was in bottom 2 this week proves he lacks popularity, which means the final may well lack the best dancer. But what the heck? It's only a dance competition, so what does the dancing matter!?
