Digital ONE broadcasting silence
Just before 10am sunday 6 december, and all stations on digital one have gone silent. Get full full EPG etc but no sound. All BBC stations OK. Is it me! ( Churchdown Hill) or national?

I haven't gone through all the stations but LBC has gone dead on DAB in the North East so if it's carried by Digital One...it would appear it's a National problem...
BBC stations are ok. |

That's just one of the many problems with DAB, it's not just one station that goes off when there's a problem with the multiplex...all the others on the same multiplex do too.
New technology = New problems. |

LBC isn't on Digital One, it's on MXR. LBC has gone silent on MXR Severn Estuary as well.

I've noticed it aswell here in Manchester. I have one of the hard to get hold of GDB5 FREEVIEW/DAB receivers and I thought it was my box again, but I tried my pocket DAB receiver and yes, they've all fallen silent. I was looking forward to a bit of Sunday Spa on CLASSIC FM this morning aswell.
I hope its engineering work they are carrying out at the moment.

LBC is silent on MXR WM as well, tried Jazz FM and The Arrow and they are as normal. I'm not getting any of the services from CE Birmingham either which is usually 100%.

Both LBC stations are silent on DAB in London, as are Jazz FM, Magic, Choice, Gaydar, Absolute Classic Rock and Capital and all of Digital One.

A few weeks ago the whole of the BBC DTT multiplex disappeared in my area on a Sunday night for about an hour. |

Classic FM 128k stream: http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/show....mID=2&web=true That should be slightly better quality than 160k DAB. |

Somehow I'm not too distressed about Absolute Radio going off FREEVIEW, even though its a temporary glitch. I prefer Q RADIO on there. But this is going into another topic. Apologies in advance.

Thank all,
I can confirm all the above and that was after doing a rescan too just in case it was my receiver. ![]() Good job I am now mainly going over to the BBC for most of the day. Unless it fails too.

Looks like every DAB station except the BBC National Multiplex has been wiped out - nothing on DAB except BBC national radio here in Reading.

Here in Norwich it seems all the D1 stations are silent, also Magic, Traffic and XFM on Now Norwich.

It seems that everything on D1 and anything non-local on NOW Cornwall has disappeared.

On Jazz FM, Robbie Vincent now refers to 'major transmitter failure in the south-east'.
