I'm sorry for that but I've got Big Brother for the first time on E4 when it eventually starts (I've followed it from the beginning). Can anybody truly tell me what E4's coverage is like? Is it like the Salon's?

I found the E4 coverage very boring and frustrating, you spend more time looking at the hens when they cut the sound and pictures.

it is like the salons, but e4 also go interactive. so when normal programming is on, you can go interactive and watch it there. there's normally 4 streams : 2 live streams (diff cameras) and 2 replays.

the replays have been different : bb2 was 4 hours ago, and 24 hours ago, bb3 was highlights and i think bb4 was the same (although i cant really remember what the streaming was like on bb4)

dont get too excited about the interactive though, sadly its not full screen (like with fame academy, b2r etc etc), but that'll be to do with there be more streaming options in there!

Do you have E4 via Sky or Cable?

If you have it via Sky you have E4 and E4+1 , also BB interactive gives you access to four 1/4 sized screens (what they have done so far).
2 are live (delayed by 15 mins or so) and the other 2 are there for replaying events like tasks taken by the group which is used by 1 screen and then the other covers discussions , arguements , anything worth watching again if you have heard about it and not seen it.

If you unlucky enough to have NTL cable in some areas you'll get none of the nice things mentioned above. They said they were going to give us access after the first BB finished and nothing yet!

If there are not going to be any more hens this year we're probably going to be seeing things like the roof or the empty garden.
This happens even when all the people are there, easier to go to that than try and blank stuff out or indeed find another conversation elsewhere to cover.
They are also banning books and magazines so we shouldn't have loads and loads of coverage of nothing but saying that we're still going to have lots of shots of them sunbathing etc.
The best time to be watching them is 5pm onwards, which unfortunately is when E4 is off to show more of Friends and rubbish like that.

I liked watching BB live on E4. It's kind of comforting and watching it late at night and in the early morning is fun. I also liked watching them in the mornings and cooking at the weekend, like a 24 hour soap.
Hope you enjoy it!

As the HM's usually sit up half the night, and that's when the interesting stuff happens (except on BB4) I tape E4 overnight, then I can watch it when they are in bed until mid afternoon!! Yes, I know, I am very sad!!!

thats what I do too - and the bonus is that you can fast forward through chicken-cam and sound dips, so it only takes an hour to watch the four hour tape.......

hee hee

25% useful footage... is a huge waste of tape

like lots of general BB fans I tape BB from the start, been doing that since BB2

C4 recaps I always tape, from the opening live show

the E4 live stuff I only tape when I'm actually watching, as you can pause when it's chicken cam or they're doing nothing,

or else sod's law means you end up a tape of hours of zilch that runs out when it's interesting again

if something interesting happens late at nite then I stay up with them.

anyway I find I hardly rewatch them afterwards thus I end up recycling the tapes otherwise they just take up space. I'm currently taping over all the BB2 with Newlyweds on MTV, and I'm going to tape over all the BB3 with BB5. My BB4 has already gone - zapped by Star Trek Enterprise

may be I should Ebay them but your not s'pose to bootleg -- didn't someone recently got arrested for flogging their tapes of Live Aid

i'll maybe see if I can get someone to tape the episodes for me and post the tape over. I'll have to sort something out, I can't bear to miss it.

Where are you off to? Most developed countires will have broadband access on offer depending where you go so you can always keep up to date via the web ,you can even watch live straming (for a fee).

You will need a very considerate friend and quite a few spare VHS tapes or DVD-RW discs.

Does girlie's silence imply she has opted for NTL/Telewest cable then ?
I don't think I could go back to non E4 coverage since recieiving it during BB3/4. You always see so much more plus it means there is always something to watch on TV as if you can't find a porgramme or the adverts are on you can just switch to BB coverage.

Well it'll be family who have to send them over so they'll just bloomin have to do it whether they like it or not !

I'm going to spain and I know I'll get web access over there, but it's just not the same really is it? The last couple of years i was a student with nothing to do during the summer but watch big brother all day long (although didn't watch as much last year, too boring). I'm not liking the working through the summer thing!!

Hehe , no it isn't the same if you are in another country.

So where abouts are you going in Spain to work?

I don't want to get your hopes up to high but getting access to C4/E4 is quite easy in Spain , a lot of ex-pats on the south coast of Spain (some post here) have access to these channels.
Of course it would depend and who you are living with or where you are living , maybe you could check out to see if they offer satellite TV.

I guess when you say working you means bars don't you? Most have them have access to Sky Digital for Sky Sports and maybe while that isn't on you could watch E4 perhaps?
