Tangos have disappointed me this year: here are some to get excited about

I like the use of non-classical music with some dances - if it works.
Ola's Tango this year using Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top was a case in point.

I loved the Rachel Tango - thought it was a WOW dance. The dance had a mixture of sharpness and passion, and not giving away her feelings is a valid Tango look for the lady in my opinion'

I thought Ricky Whittle's Tango had the makings of a good dance, but as with many dances this year, the camerawork didn't let you see the dance well enough, and he did have a few mistakes.

Me too. Best ever. Loved Patsy and Anton's music.

I wasn't a Rachel fan, but her tango was one of her dances I really loved from last season. Mind you, someone from my dance class quite rightly pointed out that she doesn't seem to do a single heel lead (which is a key aspect of the tango) which actually means her performance exceeded her technique! Chris bashers take note!

I think some rock music can work for tango or paso, but there seems to have been this unfortunate assumption that this means any rock song of suitable timing and tempo will work. There have been some bad choices this year where the music has overpowered the dance (quite impressive for a tango!) - Ricky G's being an example. Between the music and that awful dress I failed to notice any of his mistakes because I was barely taking in the dance at all.
