Greetings!

If you, like me, are obsessed with Strictly - do you hear songs on the radio and put them with a Strictly dance?

For example, yesterday I was driving to work and 'She's like the wind' by Patrick Swayze came on. I was put in mind of a romantic rhumba.

What songs have you heard that evokes a dance? I can never remember whether a song has been used before or not!

Kelly Brook & Brendan's rumba.

Still in favour of a paso to Supermassive Black Hole

You see! Told you I can never remember.

This morning I heard KC and the sunshine Band - 'That's the Way (uhuh uhuh) I Like it' Sort of got me thinking of a samba or cha cha cha!

Pixie Lott's 'Cry Me Out' is practically begging to be used as a VW... I imagine people swirling around to it whenever it's on the radio!

Funny that, I've always fancied it as a tango!

I would love someone to do a showdance to Chris Brown's Forever (love the song - not him).

"But first
It`s your chance take my hand
Come with me

It`s like I waited my whole life
For this one night
It`s gon be me you and the dance floor"

OP - I am always doing that, I'll even buy the songs thinking it would be good for when I dance but I haven't danced in 5 years!

Case in point - the songs I've recently purchased:
Miss Chatelaine - K.D Lang for a Samba (heard it on bbc2 in the morning a few weeks ago and got it immediately! Very sad of me)
Low - Flo Rider for a Samba
About a girl - Sugababes for Cha Cha Cha
If I didn't care - Amy Adams and Lee Pace for Slow Foxtrot (after watching Miss Pettigrew lives for a day)
Bad Romance - Lady Gaga for the tango (I know my musical tastes are terrible)
That's not my name - Ting Tings for the tango (as above)
Love will keep us together - Captain and Tenille for the foxtrot (got it after watching Picture Perfect on telly)
Last night I didn't get to sleep at all - Fifth Dimension for foxtrot (got it after listening to it on bbc radio)
Make you feel my love - Adele for a rumba
Take a bow - Glee version for a rumba

I might stop there as I have probably embarrassed myself enough with my poor music taste

every time i hear Darth Vader's theme (the imperial march) i want to see a tango done to it.

I always do that when i am listening to music, go "that would make a good (insert dance here)". sadly i can't remember any of them now

Ha! Papaboogie would enjoy that! Or perhaps the cantina music for a Charleston?

I too am very forgetful about songs!

Hi Mamaboogie!

I was thinking the very same thing about the Cantina music when it was Charleston week!

Great minds think alike!

I tried to teach Mr LL to do a New Yorker to the cha-cha strains of Stereophonics or some such at the weekend

Too true Feline!

What about a Paso or tango to 'Beat Again' by JLS?

I thought that would be perfect for a rumba as well. Glad I'm not the only one.
Add to that:
Last Christmas - Glee version for a christmas waltz or VW.
Rain On Your Parade - Duffy - Tango
I'm Not Dead - Pink - Paso

And every time I listen to Clubbed to Death (from The Matrix) I can always picture someone dancing to it though I'm never sure what they're actually dancing.

I had my mind set on a Foxtrot to Haven't Met You Yet so I tweeted the suggestion to Brian Fortuna a few weeks before his Foxtrot with Ali and he used it!

Others:

Halo by Beyonce for a Rumba
Beauty and The Beast by Celine Dion for a Waltz (and I have this image of James Jordan dancing it with someone really pretty so it fits the music. I know, I'm a total sadcase.)
Everything by Michael Buble for a Foxtrot
I'm Yours by Jason Mraz for a Foxtrot
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham for a Jive.

I'm sure there are tons more!

I stopped listening to popular music after Mozart died.

I like something pleasant from an old film - not this modern rubbish.

If my mind is not playing tricks, I think Erin and Julian did a jive to this, Julian in a pink sparkly jacket

The new Robbie Williams's song suggests a VW to me whenever I hear it.

I wanted Pencil Full of Lead for a quickstep, but using it for a charleston was inspired.

I'd love to see Remedy by Little Boots for a Cha Cha. But maybe it's too electronic for them to use - I was interested in the section on ITT to hear that this was why Let's Dance by Lady GaGa wasn't used.
