Its farce

any celeb who thinks they may have chance wont go in for it as dancing ability seems to have been dropped for gurning

At least the Xfactor audience had the good grace to remember it was a singing competition and have the good grace to get rid of Jedward

Chris has learned a lot but one Charlston and quite a few funny faces does not make a dancer

If celebs will pitch out in a jungle and eat live worms to increase their popularity I'm sure that a few will be willing to gurn and dance for their supper. Even if at the end the one who mugs for the camera most always wins both those who participate still get paid and get exposure.

Well, it's obvious that everyone is NOT against Chris and Ola winning.
Some people want the best dancers to win, others want the winner to be the couple that provide the most entertainment. Last year was the same, but Tom was a better dancer than Chris, and he had a couple of routines to bring to the final that were up there with the best.
The problem this year is that the better dancers have not consistently "entertained".
Ali and Brian have produced a few routines that have been beautifully executed, but nothing that actually had the audience on their feet yelling for more. Similarly, Ricky has not produced a real show-stopper yet. I felt sure he would have done by now, he was so good when he appeared for the first time.
In contrast, Chris has become better week by week, and is now a more than competent dancer. They also have the benefit of appearing to enjoy their partnership..in a fun way, not in some bullsh*t "celebrity romance" kind of way. I have tried to resist the "Team Cola" stuff, but even as an old cynic they make me smile.

He's not the better dancer - fact.

The top 5 (Excluding Sergeant) were better than him last year. If he entered last year, he'd be gone by now

You can't tell me he's as good as Chambers, Dixon, Ramps, Halfpenny?

I find his facial impressions stomach churning

I'm sick of Turnbul on Breakfast CONSTANTLY talking about him, and plugging Hollins

The show has been awful this year, and now BBC move the goalposts at the last minute to affect the voting. I won't be watching come the weekend

The Exec Producer should go following this years poor show -

* Show was too long
* Alesha joining the panel
* Changing the rules
* Poor 'celebs' (Who weren't famous)

Don't get too wound up about it. No one is saying that Chris is in the league of Tom, Ramps etc. Bill Turnbull is bound to support Chris as he works with him. You would be the same if someone at your workplace was competing.

I agree with alot of your points of why the show has not been so good this year. I think the general standard of dancing has been below par. It was a shame Jade had to go because I think she would have progressed on to be a good dancer and probably have won.

Agree with you about Alesha - certainly shouldn't be there.

In a few weeks, it will all be over and we will be moaning about something else. Probably DOI if you watch it.

Tom Chambers, Alesha Dixon, Mark RampraKash, Jill Halfpenny.
Are you saying they were more famous than Martina Hingis, Phil Tufnell, Joe Calzaghe or Richard Dunwoody ?
All in sport..I'll grant you that. But they were all stars of their profession.

The problem is, Ricky may be better than Tom Chambers, perhaps he's even on a par with Ramps ( though I doubt many would agree)..but he has just not produced the performances yet. As for Ali, I don't think she comes anywhere near Jill or Alesha. Therefore, it's not quite as obvious as you suggest..I would agree Chris is the weakest of the three, but Ali and Ricky are not particularly great either. That makes it even easier to vote for entertainment over technique this year.

If everyone was against Chris and Ola winning – they wouldn’t win!

Simple fact is they are winning the public vote each week – so a lot of people (including those who vote) do want them to win!

My point was, did anyone know who Ricky Whittle, or Ali Bastian were before Strictly?

In the USA they had Donny Osmond, Kelly Osbourne. I just think surely they should be able to get a better quality of guest.

At least someone famous. Someone who had a small role in The Bill ages ago (But hasn't done anything else) in my opinion was a poor booking.

Very true. I do hope someone at the BBC has noticed what a mess this years SCD has become!

The backlash didn't do Darren Gough any harm. I'm sure the fact that there's a reasonable section of Zoe/Colin fans wondering how on earth (arguably) the least talented dancer of the three finalists went on to lift the glitterball means zero to the Dazzler. He's left with the warm, fuzzy memory of the fact the majority voted for him.

Sometimes in the Grand National, outsiders win the race. Same with Strictly.

Oh I think they have, don't worry. They are casting about for ways to overhaul the show while pretending that they are 100% behind the current format....not an easy trick to pull off!

I get really offended by being told I am 'wrong' to not want Cola to win; that im a snob because having some dance training makes me appreciate technique over crowd pleasers; that I'm whinging and throwing the toys out of the pram because I wasn't bothered re: judges and this fix; that I am not persuaded by a few Gimmick T shirts; that I am wrong for my opinion that Ricky and Ali are better dancers than Chris and should be in the final.

I was told off quite vehemently last weekend by other FMs because I was angry Rivky was in the DO and I shouldn't be 'telling people who to vote for' (even though I wasn't) and I took those comments on board, therefore I would appreciate it if you could allow others their own opinion that for some, strictly is a dance competition and they want the best technical dancer to win and for some people on here, that isn't Chris.

As sweet as he is, I don't think he is the best or the most entertaining FOR ME and we should be allowed to air those opinions without personal insults or patronising statements that we are wrong/snobs/whatever.

Have some grace in victory.

You should know by now that there is no reasoning with some on here. I'm called a 'snob' for 'looking down my nose at Alesha' and yet I'm 'common' for being in Team Cola and appreciating showmanship before technique.

The only thing the matters is what you think and I really would try not to give a hoot about what others do or say on here. There would be no point to any of these forums if we all came on here and agreed with each other.

I am definitely a team Cola fan but I have to disagree with you that Ricky has not produced the perfomances yet.

I personally think his quick step was the best dance of the series and hope that he gets to the final with Chris.

Ricky I believe is the best dancer and lovely to watch. Chris provides entertainment and I always have a smile and a warm feeling when he dances. It would make for a great final.

Ali is boring to watch, brings no entertainment or personality to the show and the final would not have the dynamic of a Chris versus Ricky final.

Yes Ricky should win but at the end of the day they ask us to vote who we want to win and if Chris is the choice then we will have democratically chosen.

After all as someone else pointed out they do not ask us to vote for the best dancer they ask us to vote for our winner.

Yes, I watch Hollyoaks and Becca was my favourite

Who is it who's "Someone who had a small role in The Bill ages ago (But hasn't done anything else)"?

At the end of the day, these shows are won by the ones who appeal to people most at home and for me Ali and Ricky just havent done that. Ricky is fantastic but i feel his partner is letting him down because she comes across as a right snob to me and thinks she is well ahead of the other couples.

I also want Cola to win so Alesha can eat her words, because in interviews she has come across as really favouring Ricky when she said ''it's only about Ricky for me'' as if to say she doesnt care for the others!”

Well, apart from Cola being very high in sugar content and therefore very bad for your teeth, there is the perception that if Cola wins, it will only be because the rules were changed as a special dispensation for them and that they won't have won fair and square.

Yes, I agree..Ricky's Quickstep was a fine performance. His Rock n' Roll in the dance-off was also excellent. I just don't (quite) put those among the "great" SCD dances we have seen over the years. It's all a matter of personal choice of course.

Really? Do you have a link to that?

I got the impression she firmly backed Ali & Brian instead. I wouldn't be too bothered about the comment you said she made because all she's doing is having an opinion same as you. That being sad she should be aware it creates a stir when you pinpoint a favourite out sometimes in her position, because she herself is being judged for her judging the first year in the competition.

Well I can't really expect any of the judges to back Chris because he's clearly not the best dancer and they are there to judge their dancing technique of course.

No, she played Becca in Hollyoaks for many years, very high profile and controversial storylines and a great character. (she was a teacher who had an affair with a pupil, got sent to prison etc etc)

Her character was married to Camilla Dallerup's real life partner's character.
