Assuming it's Chris vs Ali in final, I think it's up to Brian to choreograph a winning showdance.

No prizes for guessing Ola will choreograph a 'entertaining/mugging to camera' dance. Rather like Camilla with Tom Chambers last year, but Chris's dance will be performed to a much lower level.

Brian should do a similar dance. Why? Because neutral voters will be able to compare like with like and there should only be one winner. Ali has shown with the Charleston she can do kooky/fun/entertaining.

Brian, the motto is, 'if you can't beat them, join them!'.

By the way, am I naive in thinking that people should watch the dances FIRST and then decide who they want to vote for? Plenty of forumites seem to have decided already. The strangest thing!

Actually, it's still anyone's to win. If Ricky fans get their act together this week there is no reason why he couldn't be in the final.

On the assumption Ali gets 3 points from the judges and Ricky 2, if Ricky gets 2 points from the public vote (I'm working on the assumption, as are most people, that Chris will get 3 from the publc) then Ali and Ricky will tie on 4 points and Ricky will go through as he has the higher public vote.

Don't write him off just yet.

Chris can light up that dancefloor and has done so for many weeks. Eventhough his dancing might not be up there with Ali. He runs rings around her with charisma and chemistry with Ola....

In advising Brian to go the 'entertainment route' in the showdance you might as well carry them off to Showdance Graveyard right now *Say hi to Lisa & Brendan and Colin & Erin while your there hey*

I think nothing short of a Tonya Harding-like intervention will stop the mighty Cola trundling to victory. And Brian is far too much of a gentleman!

The show dance could do it but not if they close the voting so soon after that it doesn't matter. Tom won by turning up last year after topping the vote the week before too. Dancing wasn't much to do with that. Chris may be unstoppable but is clearly a relatively : weak dancer so the only way he will be beaten is if a lot more people vote and the difficulty and wow factor of someone elses dances wins people over and exposes his weakness.

Ricky could do something really dynamic but we havn't seen much to believe his repertoire includes looking funny or strong or even dashing. Dynamic would work with the right music though. Ali at least has managed beautiful and funny. Either could work with the right music and some eyecatching moves. Ricky can do that overhead lift but he can't do the more difficult ones Brian managed with Ali. Chris can't act any other role than Chris and naughty schoolboy and Ola would have more chance lifting Chris. There is scope there for someone to beat Chris on wow and wow may beat funny if the voting wasn't pre-decided by something entirely different.

Reading back through your posts, it is obvious you have a fixation problem with Chris Hollins.

Did you ask him out once and he turned you down?

I see that Chrs has been quiet an athlete in his time and now he can add dancer to the list.

A wow showdance for AliBri would have to be a QS/AS. They could certainly do it - but will they?

Not sure about Ricky. Natalie will probably choreograph something involving huge lifts and rapidity with some awful stop/start business which is when they gather breath (like the gymnasts do with floor exercises). He'd have done better with another partner. Did you see her RnR? She was frightful. Not nearly as good as Ricky.

But I just know Cola will do something cutesie and endearing and bring the house down. Because they can.

Being able to gurn isn't the same as having personality.

Erin's puppet did more dance steps than Chris .. and he didn't have the look of a castrated dog whilst doing it. Light up a dancefloor .. don't make me laugh.

This isn't about the dancing .. let's not pretend otherwise, because apart from the charleston ... he hasn't properly danced .. and he didn't even then .. as was pointed out by the judges.

This popularity is all about the breakfast TV, training VT's, catchphrases, cutesy couple .. let's all wear the t-shirt, cheeky chappie routine that Chris and Ola have honed to perfection, and their fans are always prattling on about them being undermarked because they think the judges should take all that rubbish into account when scoring.

You can be smug in the win .. the rest of us can be smug in the fact that he will always be labelled 'the worst dancer to have ever won Strictly'.

I think it's a little harsh to say he hasn't danced properly. You may say his dancing isn't as good as the others but what was he doing in that waltz if not dancing? Similarly, while I didn't watch in those days, I have seen many clips on Youtube and seen him on tour and I would say that Goughie was no better a dancer than Chris.

For every minute of dance we must get five minutes of chat. Add ITT to the mix and the imbalance is even greater.

That's why the "worse" dancers sometimes prevail. I'd still rather watch Cola than the others because of the alleged "rubbish". I can enjoy the dance and the social interaction and make a decision. Such a decision is unlikely to favour Ricky or Ali. However, should they produce dances full of life and vigour and joy, I can be persuaded to vote for them.

Let them entertain ME!!!! I'm paying their wages.

I can only say that I disagree with your critique of why Chris and Ola are popular. Of course it's about the dancing. It's about him learning to dance. And let's not pretend he hasn't danced properly when he clearly has. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have survived. Yes, he has some improvements to make - but so do the other semi-finalists ... not least they need to find a way of connecting with more viewers.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion - but please don't be so dismissive of other people's. We are all capable of deciding who we like - and we don't need other people critiquing that and then throwing in some personal insults. All it does is create bad feeling - what is the point of that?

I thought Darren was poor .. but he was CONSIDERABLY better than Chris.

During that waltz .. Chris's head and posture were terrible and he is interminably flat footed. In the Samba .. he didn't do any or hardly any of the Samba steps required ... no wonder he can 'sell' a performance when Ola is doing the work and he is doing the same steps he learnt in week one.

The others are having to master far more complicated dances .. if they did Chris's level of dancing then they could spend three of the four training days learning how to 'sell' their performances too.

But .. like some others .. they wouldn't get away with it. It'd be 'this is week twelve .. you should have progressed further than that'.

He doesn't need to learn complicated routines as they do .. because his votes aren't based on his dancing.

I notice you're not bothered about the criticism in this thread about Ali (who hasn't got a personality apparently) .. or the 'dismissive' view that she and Brian can follow others to the 'showdance graveyard' if they follow the OP's advice.

Oh .. sorry , it's an unwritten rule ... Chris or Chris fans cannot be criticised.

All I read from Cola fans is that they are voting for him cos he entertains them .. mostly on the VT's .. of course he would survive even if he danced poorly.

Let's look at his scores ..

26, 30, 23, 25, 22, 28, 29, 34, 30, 29, 34.

This is a semi-finalist .. and he has struggled constantly to improve on his week one score of 30 .. two weeks ago .. he got a 29!!! for a Viennese Waltz.
His higher scores have always been for performance .. but he is still being told he is not doing the steps, he has bad posture and is flat footed.

It's just like the Jedward vote .. they couldn't sing that well but they could sell it to an audience. Thankfully that novelty wore off sooner.

My vote is based on the pair's dancing. He'd hardly be doing it solo! That's not ballroom!

If this were a simple dance competition then I wouldn't be watching it. Neither might millions of others. Then it would cease to exist due to lack of interest. There was a programme once a bit like that. "Come Dancing"? Anyone heard of it?

Poison Feng is correct. I too have noticed your fixation with Chris. I dont know what he's ever done to you, but some of the stuff you have said about him has been downright spiteful and mean.

I dont like Ricky W very much, but I dont resort to making rude and unpleasant comments about him and his physical appearance.

Unfortunately, Ricky has a small problem but we do not go on about it.
