Thanks for your concern.

Please look up the definition of 'irony' and other words before you use them for public consumption.

If my post had stated that I was voting for Ali (or Ricky) and then questioned why people voted BEFORE the dancing, then you would be correct. I made the ASSUMPTION that Ola/Chris would be performing a certain kind of dance, nothing to do with voting.

It's just like the Jedward vote .. they couldn't sing that well but they could sell it to an audience. Thankfully that novelty wore off sooner.”

How exactly does your response answer the points I raised?

I have commented several times in other threads that I don't support any contestant being personally rubbished. So that's that one knocked on the head.

Quoting the judges' scores does not justify trashing a contestant with personal insults. At no point last weekend was Chris told he had bad posture or was flat-footed. And doing what steps? Sure, a couple of the judges suggested Ola might have given him more samba content ... but one of those was Darcy, who probably knows as much about the samba as Chris.

And, actually, at the end of the day, who cares what the judges think anyway?!

There is no unwritten rule that Chris cannot be criticised. I have criticisms myself, and I am supporting him (at the moment, at least)!

But maybe I could draw your attention to the disparity between the very few comments on here (and in general) about Ali, and the endless threads filled with personal spite directed at Chris and those supporting him? He, and his fans, have had to endure much more than Ali or Ricky - yet you don't seem bothered by that ...

And you persist in paraphrasing why you think people are voting for Chris, and then criticising them for doing so. Your assessment of the situation is massively oversimplified and laced with disapproval. We all have opinions and not everyone has to agree. We all have minds of our own and don't need to be told what we should be doing. Could you not perhaps respect that, please?

A top showdance can always turn things round. If its uber romantic with a touch of quirkness/cookyness with a kiss in the end then women will vote in droves. Ali needs to have a Debbie Reynolds style of persona on stage. The dance needs to tell a story. Voters are suckers for that. Throw in a kiss at the end and we'll be putty in their hand.

Luckily you are in a minority in thinking that.

This isn't about the dancing .. let's not pretend otherwise, because apart from the charleston ... he hasn't properly danced .. and he didn't even then .. as was pointed out by the judges.

Its funny how people listen to the judges when it suits them.

This popularity is all about the breakfast TV, training VT's, catchphrases, cutesy couple .. let's all wear the t-shirt, cheeky chappie routine that Chris and Ola have honed to perfection, and their fans are always prattling on about them being undermarked because they think the judges should take all that rubbish into account when scoring.

You can be smug in the win .. the rest of us can be smug in the fact that he will always be labelled 'the worst dancer to have ever won Strictly'.”

Well if that keeps you going to next year go ahead.

If we get to see Ricky's showdance - I think it will be the most spectacular by far, though I still think Chris will win.

Having said that, remembering the showdance Ian choreographed for Zoe, I can only lament his lost opportunity to do the same for Jade.

I think most people have already decided their winner before they even step onto the dance floor for the showdance tbh.

They may even be able to pull off a bit of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, who were also quite kooky...well it was the thirties.
