It's interesting that there a quite a few recent pop songs that do this. In my mid it was only really prog and some other songs from that era, but this is an education!
Remember all the Spaceman hype? Was it a Levis ad and then a load of publicity about how the full song was going to be on TOTP. I remember my jaw hitting the floor when the song went into that terrible slow bit. And stayed there.
