Brian's Mother's Blog

Have I gone mad? Has it vanished recently? I was reading it regularly (although not hugely frequently) and now all I can see is really old entries, and the date sections down the side seem to have vanished... has she stopped posting, does anyone know?

I think she took the blog off a couple of weeks back. Not sure why, maybe getting too much spam?

Oh boo, I was really enjoying reading it.

Oh well, thanks for letting me know.

Wonder if she'd let the fans that were reading have the password as they were interesting reads.

maybe she took it down about the time she gave up reading forums because of some nasty stuff

I got the feeling that was the case too. If so, I can't say I blame her.

I found her a bit of a sourpuss on that blog

Really? There were minor grumbling about not talking to Brian very often or how she struggles to focus on what's happening with her studio and pupils rather than SCD and ITT, but I always thought her blog mainly focused on the positives of the show, the dances and the joys of learning and dancing in general.

I'll miss her blog, it was an interesting read from a different perspective. I think she always has something insightful to say.

I noticed it disapeared a few weeks ago as well and to get into the most recent blogs it asked for a password. I looked in the Ali & Brian appreciation thread and they were discussing it disappearing in there so I knew it wasn't just me.

Thank you for posting this thread because I was wondering where her blog was too.

I have to agree though with her being a bit of a sourpuss as the series progressed. She seemed to think that the show centred around Natalie and Vincent and there wasn't enough of her Brian and Ali.

I think she was frustrated by the fact that Brian wasn't calling home as often as she would have liked. Perhaps he called more last year because he was new and didn't have as much of a fan base as he does this year - also, he's gone further in the competition, of course.

Nevertheless, I found her comments interesting and it's a shame that she's felt the need to shut down her blog.

What the hell are you talking about? Sourpuss, you have no clue about Mrs F. You don't know her. You have no idea of what she may be going through. I don't know you, which at least I admit, but get real and stop projecting. Sourpuss!!

I actually thought it was a good time to 'let him go', so to say. Perhaps a little too late in terms of what she read first on the net. Unfortunately,on the net if
you go looking for praise you will also find the opposite and the downright viscious but that is life and to pretend otherwise it's better to avoid the net and it's forum comments. I'd hate to read about my son in that way as well but the social side of the net is better not dallied with on in that case.

It was a good and interesting blog but I did think it treated Bryan more as her little boy than a grown professional man and while I know our children always are I do think this was a good time to stop.

I hope she manages to fly over for the final.

I enjoyed reading her blog but she did have a few issues, most recently she had been proccupied by how often Natalie and Vincent were on ITT, even though all the couples (except Ricky and Natalie) were on once a week. And that the judges only praise the (celeb) dancing and not the (pro) teaching.

She's obviously been missing her son and is immensly proud of him but she doesn't always come across very well. I'm sure she's a nice lady though.

I was just commenting on her blog, not her as a person.
Evidently others agreed, so I am unsure why you are being so defensive I'm sure she's a lovely person - Brian is my favourite male Pro but I just thought she needed to lighten up a little with her comments

What forums were these? I really enjoyed reading her blog, shame it's gone.

I dont know which ones she just said that she had decided to stop reading the forums etc she was not specific but I bet it was the BBC one to be honest

I think it must have been because she made a comment about people being very personal about his appearance and that upset her and that was definitely on the BBC board. The moderators there are total crap.

It was the BBC board and I don't blame her. I read her blog a few times and thought she came across as a very proud mother who adores her son. Nothing wrong with that.

She probably closed her blog because she discovered that putting her head above the parapet in even the tiniest ways led to people she'd never met calling her names like sourpuss on internet forums!
