You know, i never realised how good the two actors were together. They have a great on screen presence and I have just watched various clips on youtube.

These two being the best:

Tiffany Leaves Grant:

The end of Tiffany Mitchell:

The 1990s was really great for EE. Anyone else agree?

One of the key Grant & Tiffany moments for me was when she went into labour with Coutney. Her and Grant had been having an argument and she followed him out into the square where she went into labour and she begged Grant to stay with her which he was in two minds over doing.... In the end he did.

Another scene for me was when they decided to renew their vows and Grant told Tiffany he'd never be able to love her in the way she wanted him to because she wasn't Sharon. Tiffany told him it was okay because she had enough love for the both of them

I remember some of this!

It always reminds me of the Princess Diana/Charles thing for some reason..don't ask why!

EE is constantly good - with the exception of sonia's lesbainism / the fairground / the ferreras era its one of the few soaps thats been great since its start.

I wish these past episodes were repeated more frequently (especially with the anniversery coming up) they could be repeated two episodes a morning on bbc one.

Funniest Grant/Tiffany conversation:

Grant: (hestitantly) "...I love you"
Tiffany: "What?"

Grant: "You 'eard!"

Only just remembered this thread.

I have seen quite a few more clips on YT and they really were the stand out two of the late 90s. When Tiffany died and Grant left i think a new era was introduced.

Totally agree. They had some fantastic characters and storylines in the 90's and the early 00's but since then its all gone downhill by putting in too many new characters and unrealistic storylines.

They were the Den and Angie for the late 90s, no question.

That's quite the insult to den and ange you crafted there.

I don't mean they were the same characters. I mean they became the centre of the show.

I'd argue - and this one's sacrilege - that they were better than Den and Angie. More twisted, more sadistic, better performed.

Certainly comparing Grant Mitchell to Den Watts - they never did share screen time did they? - is an interesting one, but what was, for me, so much better about Grant, is we were - just occasionally - asked to sympathise with Grant, when they delved in to his past, and we realised how damaged he was. That just made him even more terrifying. No such effort was made by the writers with Den - at least, none that I remember. Anyone else? I could be wrong on this one.

In my opinion, Den only worked as a character because of the Angie dynamic. Without Anita Dobson, Leslie Grantham was often cast adrift in his scenes, struggling to stay afloat. To put it bluntly, he wasn't a very good actor although his star quality was indeniable and utterly seductive.

Ross and Martine never had that kind of problem.

I'd agree about the more twisted and sadistic they had a brilliantly volatile relationship. They're often remembered as this great pairing but Grant's treatment of Tiffany was appalling their whole relationship was very dark. She was this naive young girl who was madly in love yet it was obvious that Grant never cared about her. His heart still belonged to Sharon when they got together and he only stayed with her for Courtney yet cheated on her given any opportunity Lorraine, Kathy, Louise...Not only that but he was verbally, physically and mentally abusive and tormented her right up until her death. He was far worse a husband than Phil was even at the height of his alcoholism during his marriage to Kathy.

I don't think Grant and Tiffany where a good pair up. Grant and Phil where both awesome from their introduction around 1990/91 right up until the mid 1990's but when I look back I think Grant and Tiffany where boring on the whole.
