DVD Players: Lafayette ... who ?
Hi people !
Just recently heard about Lafayette DVD Players, an old american brand re-released and now in the UK. Does anyone have any experience of this brand ? On paper they look highly specified and, dare I say it, quite attractive (no getting the wrong ideas). I think they're going for about £160 on the high street but can be quite hard to find at the moment .. features include, I think, dolby digital/dts decoders, mp3, JPEG, VCD/SVCD, DVD Audio, CD-R/RW, component, s-video, composite and scart, coaxial and optical outputs .. |

I doubt they'll enter the budget market badged as anything, they are aimed at the entry level Marantz/Denon market (well, at the very least Yamaha) .. so overall, mid-range with some high-end ones coming later Last edited by Jay23Sx : 24-03-2004 at 08:40. |

They look very attractive and very well specced. Certainly not budget .
I always think that with so many (especially far eastern) cheapo brands kicking around, the lesser known brands like this (i hadn't heard of them) are going to suffer a bit as people might dismiss them as cheapo level after seeing the name and go buy something more established. That would be shame. |

Do we know of anyone buying one of these yet ? I just read they have dropped the selling price to £120 to make it more appealing for people to take the risk on an unknown brand using the best buys its got to give an extra push
