Of course i'm happy, she deserves it. Three #1s in a year is fantastic.

I didn't think she would bring out any new songs out this year. glad she did

I'd be happier if she violently imploded.

Long wait then.

Can't wait for her to grab that #1!

very pleased. great way to cap off an amazing year for the new queen of pop.

on another note, it's nice to see that many people who were cynical about her (understandably) at the start seem to be warming to her, and realising that beneath all the crazy outfits and odd behaviour, there is a genuine talent there.

I'm pleased. I love Bad Romance.

Love the song, love the video!

I feel I've come to the Ga Ga party a bit late, however I now think she's amazing!

A very deserved number one, fingers crossed!!!

Ga Ga, OO LA, LA

And yes, as someone else has mentioned, I think we're seeing the new Queen of Pop!

Absolutely ecstatic. Only the BEP's have had 3 number ones in the UK this year, and GaGa definitely deserves to join them.

well people, it does look very likely to reach no.1, but let's not get ahead of ourselves now!

There's a little bit of talent there - but she hasn't particularly got a great voice. She has no great range & there is very little emotion (this reflects I don't really care about the rest of the world / excapism approach, in a way, I suppose). Her main talent is in her song writing. To me this is very cliched & contrived to my ears. She is just following a long beaten track that commercial rock & pop has followed ever since the '50's but she has put her own slant on it.It is old fasioned (recognisable) but with a modern appeal to it (you have to appreciate how she managed to formulate a sound that combined those 2 elements ???).
Not my kind of music at all thank you very much, though.:yawn:

Nah, Madonna still holds that title.

"Hard Candy" might have had bad reviews but after recently hearing which producers she's got planned for her new album, I think she'll come back bigger than ever.

i love how you conveniently removed the word 'new' from my original post.

i'm a big fan of Madonna too, i wasn't suggesting that her time is over and Gaga will take her place, far from it. what i meant is that i think we are seeing just the start of what will be an amazing pop career for Gaga. Madonna has been going for over 25 years and we all know what she's achieved in that time. there's room enough for both.

She totally deserves #1. I also hope she manages to hold onto the 'Best Selling Single of 2009' title, but i have a feeling the X Factor Winner will take that

Lady GaGa is definately one of my favourite artists to come out this decade. There isn't one single song of hers that i don't like, and she is geninely talanted.

I can't wait to see her in March

David Guetta? That means she'll sound as generic as ever. I love Madonna to bits and will continue to buy her records and attend her shows but I can't help but feel she's either got a bit complacent or really doesnt give a shit anymore about her music career. I'm so disappointed she's releasing music these days without any promotion and not even bothering to make videos so either she can't be bothered or she thinks her name alne will guarantee her a hit which is not the case at all. IMO GaGa leads the way right now but Madonna's past achievements still make her the Queen but GaGa is the successor

Of course there's enough room for both in the industry, but when did you last see two queens sitting on one throne?
To even suggest the title: "The New Queen" of pop says to me that Madonna had somehow been de-throned.

Lady GaGa is very good, but it's just not possible for anyone in this day and age to equate the same amount of success as Madonna - the same goes for the king of pop - MJ.

yeah that's right, Madonna actually sits on a throne as the official Queen of Pop and she must be officially ousted for anyone else to be considered to of taken her place. jeez, not everyone likes her anyway, no need to be so literal about it.

i suppose you're right about how it's not possible to achieve the same amount of success these days, but that's largely down to downloading and filesharing, and how much different music and artists are around.

Debbie Harry is still the Queen of Pop, has more talent in her little toe than Madonna and Gaga put together

Agreed.
Madonna is and always will be the Queen of Pop

But if anyone is to get even close to reaching her, Lady Gaga could.

I don't care if people hate Lady Gaga, Madonna's always had her detractors and she's the biggest female in the music business of all time.

I'd love the two to collobarate.

I'm delighted for her, the track is outstanding.

I hope Speechless gets a release, it's such an immense track and also deserves a number 1.
