If you could pick any 4 celebs from the show who would be in your "Perfect" final 4 - assuming noone was injured etc etc
I think mine would be

Jade and Ian
Natalie and Vincent
Ricky and Natalie
Zoe and James

I think it was a real shame they left so early....despite nerves, I thought Zoe got the spirit of the dance beautifully and I think James could have really got the best out of her with a little more time.

Alphabetical order:

Ali and Brian.
Ricky and Natalie (never thought I'd say that, but they've really grown on me).
Jade and Ian.
Zoe and James (shouldn't necessarily have left when they did, even though I'm glad Ali stayed).

So far we've ALL included Jade and Ian....do you think maybe they would have been our winners next week without the injury?

I think they had a very good chance, to be honest. There's been a lot of talk about performance vs. technique on here recently, and I think Jade and Ian were the couple who best covered the two.

They would have been mine and I'd probably have joined in with the righteous indigation if Cola went on to win instead of them

No doubt about it imo.

In no particular order :
Jade & Ian
Natalie & Vincent
Laila & Anton
Zoe & James

For novelty value Darcey and CRH
(but still want to see Len and CRH's Lambada )

Yes. I think they were most people's first or second choice.

Ricky and Natalie
Jade and Ian
Phil and Katya
Laila and Anton (pre-foot drama)

I think you're right.
I thought Natalie and Vincent were fantastic at the performance and sheer joy to be dancing thing, but I'm not sure she would have ever quite got all the technique.
Jade's athletic ability and understanding of how to get her body to do what she wanted probably helped her to get the technique better and she seemed to be enjoying the whole thing so much too.

As with several others, I'm quite happy with the three we have plus Jade and Ian.

Not sure which of the actual final three I'd want to boot before the hypothetical final though. Jade and Ian would be my only definites!

While I think they would have been deserving, Jade and Ian wouldn't have won. They had already been in a dance off and I just can't see that they would be more popular than Chris & Ola. Reports that Cola were topping the votes were released long before Jade dropped out. She maybe would have been a finalist but even that I'm unsure of.

Anyway, mine:

Chris and Ola
Jade and Ian
Zoe and James
Natalie and Vincent

Perfect!

Didn't those early reports also claim that Phil was second in the public vote? Even if those reports were true, I don't believe that the public vote was anywhere near static by the time Jade had to leave the competition, let alone when she was in the bottom two (after dancing a samba, first out on the floor, in an... interesting... dress and after a horrendous VT)... so I'm not so sure she couldn't have done it. After all, we've been told by Alesha enough times that she'd been in the bottom two, so it isn't unheard of (even if Alesha was much later on).

Phil's popularity obviously didn't carry through. Chris seems to be gaining week by week.

I just don't think she would have won. I know we'll never know, but there would have been a good chance she would have been in the bottom two with Ricky or Ali and we know who the judges favour.

I just don't think she had the votes.

You may be right but I think citing Jade's early dance off as evidence is flawed because, at that stage, the audience was still getting to grips with the series. I think a lot of viewers were still wondering which couple to vote for, while hoping one of the "technicians" would maybe find their inner sparkle.

I think the dance off made a lot of people take notice of Jade and I think she was gaining momentum before she went.

I also think she might have attracted a sizeable chunk of support from those who want to vote for dance talent primarily but need a bit of wow to really kick start them. Neither Ali or Ricky have really been able to grab that audience by the scruff of the neck, with the result that I think Chris has inherited votes he would never have had in other series due to the serious dance alternatives being less than scintillating.

I don't say she would have been able to overturn the Cola wagon but I think she'd have stood a better chance than either Ali or Ricky, particularly if she'd nailed the tango.
