Just had my new BT Bill. Worse than ever. Very hard to understand. Why do they on the unlimited weekend evening plan just say zero cost instead of adding it on and taking it off Also they should show the amount before vat as well. They should copy virgin media bills. Why not just show line rental and cost of calls simple

I personally think it's a deliberate attempt by BT to make it as complicated as possible.

(so the customer won't (or can't) be bothered to complain or raise a query)

Just wondered how long before the payment date you recieved yours?

I normally only get mine only 4 or 5 days before the payment date!

You ought to just rent your line from another provider. Might be easier to understand the bill - and will almost certainly be cheaper.

But you wouldn't be able to use 1899 et al so you'd probably be worse off.

That old chestnut again.

What sort of calls are you using that service for?

Personally, I use the sister company, www.18185.co.uk for all UK 01/02/03 calls which aren't inclusive in my BT calls plan.

For me, that means all weekday daytime calls - and each of those calls costs me exactly 5p, regardless of duration whereas, via BT, each would cost 9.05p call set-up fee plus 5¼p/minute (e.g. a call of just under 10 minutes would cost 61½p).

How many of those 5p calls do you make in an average month?

Usually about 30 or 40 (well under the 99 which would make taking BT's Unlimited Anytime Plan worthwhile).

Yeah, I suppose if you were making calls to 0870/0845 then BT would be a better option as those numbers have a 'per min' element rather than a fixed fee one.
