Watching Ali and Brian tonight there was no mention of the injury so we can assume that she is fine to perform tomorrow.

One thing is certain from the way they were sitting, practically entwined, we can definitely assume that there has been some bedroom dancing

Im not being anti Ali. I like her, Ricky and Chris and think they should all be in the final. If she is bottom on the leaderboard with or without injury i think she should go because she has been the weakest on the night. This is what i am saying. Its the same with Ricky if he is bottom or Chris if he is bottom. We all want a good final dont we? Yes so why dont we all want the two best dancers of the night to go through.

Seeing ITT last night Ricky and Natalie seem confined to their fate that they are going due Natalie saying she wanted them to do the waltz to finish of their journey. She obviously knows what the public vote will be and her and Ricky will be goners unfortunately. They are better than Chris and if the competition is based on dancing and technical ability then they should go through to a two person final. If they were allowing 3 people through then Chris would deserve his place as he is brilliant fun and i want him to win based on the entertainment value. But lets remember this is a dancing competition so Ricky and Ali should be the final 2.

But this is MY opinion remember. Freedom of speech is allowed after all.

Ali sprained her ankle 2 weeks ago, no way is it going to effect her dancing now. Definate sympathy vote ploy to get her into the final, so sad and desperate to win. Would you want to make the final through the sympathy vote rather than your dancing?

A report in the Sun which Brian says is news to him. How is that a sympathy vote ploy?

Thanks OP for your advice. However I shall vote for whomever I want and for whatever reason I choose. Thanks very much.

The story looks bogus to me given the DS one says she has danced two dances since she was injured. Clearly wrong given she has done four (charlston, viennese waltz, tango and samba) and the injury was almost three weeks ago now and not two. She hasn't mentioned an injry and they have done lots of hours dancing this week so methinks its twaddle.

This post is sad and desperate not Ali .. she's hardly ever mentioned her injury and of course she's not over it .. it's hardly getting the chance to recover is it.

She doesn't need a vote ploy, and if she did she would have mentioned her injury on ITT .. which she didn't.

Ali of all people knows that injuries won't gain you the sympathy vote ... she was made to dance the paso twice with an injured foot.

No, let's not remember this is a dancing competition because it is, at least not solely.

And the reason we don't all want the best dancers of the night to go through is because we're not all sheep.

Facetious? Yes. But you seem to be saying that everyone should want the two highest scoring dancers of the night to go through. That's not necessarily the same as the best in some people's eyes. Best what? Technically? Interpretatively? Posturally? Sheer enjoymently? (That's not an adverb but you get the drift ).

There may be people voting for Chris because he and Ola are sooooooo cute!!!!!!! However, there are probably a fair few people voting for Ali because she's gorgeous and Ricky because he's well fit innit. Okay, the latter groups have the excuse to cling to that their chosen ones are also the better two at dancing but you just know that that's merely a bonus and if Ricky or Ali only danced as well as Chris, they'd still support them (not all but some).

From what I've heard, the majority of Chris fans are voting for him because of something he and Ola bring to the dance floor. People aren't voting for personality only, it's more than that. They enjoy watching him dance more than the other two. Dancing? Enjoyment? Entertainment? Combination of the three? Sounds like a decent enough reason to vote for me.

I agree. Talk about milking it.

Her sprained ankle was just that. A sprain!

I also think its a sympathy vote in that if they cock up, mess up, forget steps, they can blame it on "the inujury".

I wonder if people really are voting for what they do on the dance floor alone, or if their perception of what they see on the dance floor is influenced by what they have seen of them off it?
A connection between partners may well be much more obvious if you have seen them sharing jokes and fun in training...viewers may notice more little things onthe dance floor than they otherwise would.
It's a bit like watching the pros...I love to watch Matthew and Brendan dance, so in group dances I'll often believe they were the best, but in reality I know it's probably because I was pre-disposed to watch them closer and to approve of what they do.

There are actually different grades of sprains, ranging from a ligament being over-stretched to a complete tear of the ligament.

I agree. I tore my ligaments a couple of years ago and was on crutches. There is NO WAY I could have danced (I couldnt even walk properly).

Which makes me think she had the minor injury...a sprain.

But when have you heard Ali complain about it? She has always got on with it and said its part of it, everyone has injuries.

I've not seen Ali or Brian talk about her injuries on ITT or any other show this week or last (and i doubt they'll be a mention of it in any vt tonight) It all stems from a trashy newspaper which could have come from anywhere but no it has to mean that they are courting sympathy.

Of course that may be true but the point still holds. For whatever reason, what Chris and Ola do on the dance floor seems to appeal to more people than what Ali and Brian do or what Ricky and Natalie do, or at least it has so far.

It's difficult to divorce our feelings for a partnership from the dance performance so, yes, there will be influence. However, what I do object to is the idea that he could just come on and f*rt and he'd still sweep the vote. Sure, all the partnerships have staunch supporters by now who will vote regardless but I still maintain that what Chris and Ola have done on the dance floor is as much to do with their support as it is to do with Ali/Brian's and Ricky/Natalie's. It's not just a vote for personality so the "Watch CBB or IACGMOOH" arguments don't wash with me.

if ali does pull out it should just be a cancelled vote off not bringing people back”

To be fair we don't "VOTE people out" in this show we vote to "save" them - yes I know she lost out in the judges vote - but if it means there is likely to be a cancellation of next weeks programme due to injury - surely it is better to have the person voted out in the quarters back in than ruin the show
