I loved the Sicillian lemon mousse ones too. So yummy.

I remember a few years ago Thornton's was the epitome of "posh chocolate" in UK. Thank goodness we've advanced from that.

Do I sense that you're not a Thorntons lover?

I'm not keen as i find them too sickly. I tend to get a box for Xmas from my Uncle, but i bring them to work to share, otherwise they get left.

My mum though is an addict and adores them. I have bought her other begium choccies in the past from posh places, but she still prefers Thorntons.

I don't like Thornton's at all even though as someone else said in years gone by they were seen as 'posh' chocolates. Last time I tried some they just tasted of aerated sugar, artificial flavourings and fat.

I think quality and tastes have moved on a bit now, or maybe there has been some cost cutting in recent years? For basic chocolate you've got Green and Blacks, Lindt and a host of other supermarket shelf brands. For selection boxes from the High Street, you've got M&S and Sainsburys Taste the Differene both superior to Thorntons, I reckon. Then of course you have Godiva and other brands although they are not as commonplace.

I'd never buy Thorntons now.

Used to be a big Thorntons fan but now when I want to splurge on chocolate save and spend it on Hotel Chocolat .

I just find that the quality isn't there with Thornton's now for the price that you are paying. I have ended up being disappointed the last few times I have spent there although I do still love the Alpini chocolates but mostly if I get anything from there its just the kids stuff.

Hotel Chocolat has become my new favourite yes its more expensive but I adore the stuff and the quality is always fantastic. What I love is the range they offer especially as I adore coffee chocolates which are nearly impossible to get anywhere as well as some of the more unusual ones. I got a bit addicted to the Mulled Wine truffles over the Xmas period.

I will still use Thorntons but not as often as I used to.

Thorntons are great chocolate makers but they are also quite expensive so I don't each much of their goods at all I'm afraid.

Thorntons are alright. Nothing special. Tastes alittle 'cadbury' compared to when you have 90%+ chocolate.
