Here's the U.S. price list to give you an idea.

I don't know but a friend has a bed that has a 32" lcd that rises up out off the foot board.

Cooler than it sounds

Your budget will get you absolutely nothing in this area.

The TV Bed's where the set rises out of the foot of the bed are in the £1500 - 2500 region.

Well, whether it's £3,000 or £3,450 it's still a sh1t load more money that the OP has in their budget so it's all pretty academic really, don't you think?

83ray1, this kind of under-the-bed automation is hugely expensive, and because it is very bespoke there's little chance of it coming down in price significantly in the near- to medium-future.

Vertical TV lifts are far more affordable. There are a number of companies now making motorised lifts for TVs from 32"-50". Some of these are well below £500. You'll need to have space for a piece of furniture to hide the TV and the lift mechanism when not in use, and of course you'll need to budget for the furniture to be built too.

A lot simpler and cheaper to just put the TV on the wall.

I quite like the idea of Mirror TVs to make them effectively 'disappear' in a room when turned off.
