In the radio times is said that Companies are allowed to give products to be used in TV shows for free. But they must not pay.
Did you really see Nike and reebok blurring? Its something i expect to see on MTV diary but on emmerdale.

Have you not noticed that "Newton And Ridley" has disappeared from the side of the Rovers Return? And that the taps have all had real brand names of booze on for yonks? I presume Granada gets free beer for "props" rather than cash to get round the ITC...

Its been going on for years ......in the 80's I used to be a courier and used to deliver all kinds of products to soap studios from a company that got paid for product placement by manufacturers.
The thing I don't get is why some sports wear gets it's logo blurred out on programmes like popstars and other brands do not. The other thing that bugs me is why black tape always gets stuck over soccer shirts sponsor logos if worn by non players on tv!? It's a funny old world!

The biggest plugging of a product has to be the sprite bottles in neighbours. I'm sure they've been in the cofee shop since it first started. They always face perfectly forward. When picked up no one covers the label and it even go its very own close up when flick dropped it.

There alose the very obvious panasonic DVD player that Mark bought for Flick. I nearly expected him to say "Are you not going to open your panasonic DVD player?"
