Why does the reality television audience who ,in part, must be relatively well educated, love to be manipulated by television producers (showmances, t-shirts, catchphrases etc). I was embarrassed after Colin Jackson lost but if Chris wins I think we should take the vote away. After all there is a general election next year and I certainly don't trust these people to elect a government.

Manipulation?

When did they tell the audience to vote for Darren or Chris?

It's an ENTERTAINMENT show about non-dancers learning some dancing skills! You vote for the couple that ENTERTAIN you the most! In a general election you vote for different reasons and most people get that it's a bit more serious than an ENTERTAINMENT show!

The journey that gets rammed down your throat, so that it doesn't matter that they are useless - they're loveable and we all love a loser eh? After all, we all want everyone to love us right? So we pick up the phone and vote, like sheep, and give the programme makers what they want (revenue).

Agreed - its light entertainment, nothing important!

Ricky hasn't improved - he was great to start with.

Chris is fun and a lovely man...now he is also a dancer.

Given your level of hysteria over Saturday night telly, I don't trust you to elect a government. Calm down.

Interesting to note that Chris got the same judges score as Ali for Argentine Tango. So the judges obviously don't think he's completely useless. And I agree with them.

I resent being referred to as a sheep. I have probably been on this earth alot longer than you and I hold down a responsible full time job. I have also voted in a number of general elections.

I was not forced to pick up the phone. I voted for the person that has entertained me over the last few weeks and that is why I watch the programme.

Surely the public are demonstrating they aren't being manipulated because they are voting for Chris - which is not what the judges want!

I don't mean manipulated by the judges. I mean by the constant breakfast lovefest and the t-shirts and the catchphrase - come on Olachops!

too old hansue, too old. I feel bad because it is such a young forum...we should be friends. Unity in numbers and all that! Unfortunately I think I may be too opinionated!

Ever so slight argument fail there since no profit is made from the Strictly voting...

Thats the good thing about forums - no one knows how old you are

The trouble is the older you get, the more outspoken you get because you don't really give a damn what people think. However, on here you have to be careful otherwise you an allienate yourself from the other posters and thats not what I come on here for.

You need to be tucked up in bed by now with a nice cup of cocoa to calm you down and give you a good nights sleep. Can't have you dozing all day tomorrow. Nightie night!

And which one of the couple's didn't attempt to manipulate the votes tonight?????? Natalie and Ricky haven't done this as much as others so far BUT even tonight they pulled it out. Ifg you can't beat them, join them.

I doubt many people vote for Chris & Ola because of t shirts or Olachops

I think people prefer Chris and Ola because they have a great chemistry, they entertain and look like they are having fun all the time. When the weather is cold outside they brighten up your living room.

In the end its just a celeb reality show - it doesn't really matter who wins. So let's just enjoy the show - and whoever the public votes for respect it.

And just watch the viewing figures slump.

Why on earth should you be embarrassed at Colin's defeat?I can understand disappointment, but embarrassment - surely not.

Do you really judge the competence of the GBP to cast their votes in a General Election with voting patterns in SCD? Forgive me if I point out that the result of a Saturday night light entertainment is of little consequence when compared to the election of a Government whose policies will affect the lives of all British citizens for the next four years.

You're right I am ready for my bed, I have probably had too much to drink and even as an old woman I make sure I exceed my weekly alcohol unit allowance. Have a good rest of the night those of you who have more stamina than me and remember be kind to the elderly - even if they do annoy you!! God bless.
