Since they're doing the Lindyhop..

I predict:

Favourite Ballroom
Favourite Latin
Group SCORED Lindyhop
Show Dance

Or...

Favourite Dance
Lindyhop
Group Viennese Waltz
Show Dance

What do you think?

Bandyhop vs Hobbityhop

Can't wait.

I'd have thought the first version is more likely, I can't see them putting another group VW in so soon after the last one.

Isn't there a judges favourite in there somewhere?

For Ricky I would imagine they'd choose his QS and Chris the Charlston.

Shouldn`t but your comment did make me giggle

I know it's not that long ago but I can't remember - did they have to do 5 dances the year Alesha won? There may have been a judges choice which could be replaced by the Lindyhop. Or maybe they won't have a group dance?

Either way, it's a LOT of dances. I think Ola's patience may be stretched to the limit this week trying to get Chris to remember everything. I hope he and Ricky get some time off their day jobs. They are going to have a lot of work to do.

^^How on earth will Chris cope with that? He said his brain was frying with two!

I'm sure there is a judges' choice somewhere along the line.

I also remember Natalie saying the Lindyhop was one of her two favourite dances. I think the other one was the AT so we might see something special again in the final from her and Ricky.

In the past two couple finals it's been:
Ballroom
Latin
Judges Choice
Group VW
Showdance

I'm thinking they'll replace the judges choice with the lindyhop and drop the group VW since they did one a couple of weeks ago. I've always felt it's too much asking the couples to learn 5 dances. They all look completely exhausted by the end.

Agreed that I don't think they will put in a group VW.

I'd be very surprised if they don't have to do both a ballroom and a latin.

5 dances far too many

It is a bit much, turns it into an endurance competition more than anything.

Whilst Chris is quite bad at remembering things, Ricky makes quite a few mistakes so I don't think that many dances would do either of them any favours.

That made me giggle too.

I think Lindyhops should be good from each of them. Overall I think it'll be:

Highest scoring Ballroom
Highest scoring Latin
Individual Lindy
Show dance

It would be silly to do another VW. And I think they have to do their highest scoring ballroom and Latin, rather than their favourites. Although the 5 judging system messes things up - would Ricky go for his Quickstep or his Foxtrot, for example?

Five dances is a bit too much for anyone. I quite liked the concept of the judge's choice but found the Viennese Waltz to be a bit of a filler, and not very fair in a male vs female final.

That's what I'd guess. That gives them two new dances to learn each and two repeated ones. Quite enough imo.

Why why why are they making them do another new dance? They've already got to revisit their previous ballroom and latin routines, as well as sorting out a freestyle. Why chuck a whole new discipline in? Both Ricky and Chris have struggled with mistakes or forgetting steps. It just seems unnecessary.

Does it matter?

Will the style or order of the dances affect the result in any way?

Again? Have they done something special already?

I wondered about that.
How long is this show going to be?
Presumably there will also be a spot with all the dancers from the series too - 14 of them plus Jade's Tango.

Yeah they've got all 14 coming back - each of them doing a little bit of their favourite dance - plus Rav and Katya have mentioned there being a group dance (I'm guessing that'll be when Bruce sings).
It's scheduled to be an hour show, break, another hour show.

I'm guessing it'll be the ballroom and latin in the first show, along with the return of the other couples. And then lindyhop, showdance, pro dance, singer and results in the second. Though actually that sounds quite a bit for the second show so maybe the lindyhop will also be in the first show so that the judges' leaderboard is determined by the time lines open (I'm pretty sure judges' choice - the last marked dance - was done in the first show).

I cant remember how it worked last year, but the year before Matt and Alesha had 5 dances each.

Favourite Ballroom
Favourite Latin
Judges Choice (Which in this case was split into QS for Matt and Jive for Alesha to 'I Love To Boogie' )
Group VW
Showdance

They didnt have to do their highest scoring dances or Matt would have done Waltz, which got 40. He done AS which got 36.

He couldn't do the Waltz because he did it at the Semi's.. Right?
TylerTango

I read this on wikipedia.. I know they're not always reliable but the last few times they have been.

Ricky: Quickstep & Lindyhop & Showdance
Chris: Foxtrot & Lindyhop & Showdance

I dont actually know if that was the reason, but it could have been.....I had just presumed they didn't have to do highest scoring but could choose what they wanted for each category.

Should be a strength for Natalie as she has performed it on DWTS Oz the year she won.
