The guy gets a lot of stick around here (karaoke singer?) but I thought he was actually incredible tonight. His performance of Superstition was probably the best performance I've seen in the whole series.

Where's all the Olly love?

Sure, Joe may technically have a better singing ability, but he is dull as hell. Olly has personality, and he actually can sing no matter what you think; it's just a different style to Joe's. I know which one I'd prefer, and I also know which of the two would actually have a career in music (it ain't Joe).

I think tomorrow I'll be picking the phone up for the first time this series (or any series for that matter).

I agree with you about Olly and Joe, but its all about personal preference obviously.

There is Olly love around here...just get your tin hat ready.

Olly cannot hit high notes and runs out of breath easily. If you call it "singing", then hope you are aware the crystal ball you're using to know who's going to have a career is faulty.

Olly love RIGHT HERE!! Adore the man, and agree with Superstition. Performance of the series, for me.

Superstition was my favorite of the series Just shows what he can do with his own song choice instead of singing the garbage Simon makes him do...

Well theres a reason so many people pick up the phone and vote for Joe and im pretty sure its not because they find hm either dull or boring. Thrustin your pelvis back and forth whilst in dangerously tight trousers might be good to watch but it doesn't really work to well on the radio IMO.

It's just my opinion that he is boring. There's also a reason many people pick up the phone and vote for Olly, which is really the reason I started this thread rather than to start Joe-bashing.

"Superstition" was awesome! probably my favourite performance of the night. His almost-slip was too funny, and the choreography cracked me up. Love Olly, hope he wins

Its not just about having a good voice though its the X Factor. Sure go to West End is Full of good singers but they are not Pop stars. This show is looking for a Pop(ular) star and a pop star is not necessarily the one who can do vocal acrobatics!

Olly was amazing tonight! Definitely his best week of the series.

His "Superstition" performance was outstanding, absolutely loved it! I voted for him tonight and will be doing so again tomorrow. Olly to win!!

My point is, if Joe was so boring people just wouldn't bother voting for him. I didn't say that Olly was boring.

If you didn't want to start 'Joe bashing' then why make negative comments about him as that is the defenition of bashing?

I am replying to the OP's assertion that Olly CAN sing. Nothing to do about his gimmicks or dad dancing.

If you listen to the vocals back without watching the performance you can see how much better Joe is than Olly vocally. People are going to be buying cds not videos of the contestants and Joes voice on cd is a million times better than Olly. Everyone voting on personality instead of talent you are just going to end up with another Leon Jackson on your hands.

I disagree.

I think Olly sounds great on the charity single and also the group performances... I believe he does have a good recording voice. Sure, Joe DOES have a stronger voice technically, but this is The X Factor... not The Voice Factor.

I was comparing him to Olly.

I would even rather listen to Olly on CD. Joe has a good voice but I couldn't listen to it. I much prefer Olly's style to Joe's. Didn't you think his performance of Superstition was good? Could you imagine Joe trying to sing it like that?
