Tbh, I think all the judges have made poor song and image choices throughout the series for their acts. 'Radio Gaga' for Jamie Simon? They can't really criticize each other for it without people giving examples of ther own mistakes.

I think the point Simon was making was on the right track & Dannii was still be a good mentor-

As I think he is making more of a hindsight judgement, seeing as how the judges as a whole pretty much kept saying she was doing good. And they all could have stressed the "observation" simon made via constructive remarks, but didn't (at least with any authority).

Stacey could have had a great niche, in giving a similar but different female feel to the (coldplay, the fray, one republic, five for fighting) type of songs. .... But this is a hindsight 20-20 observation, more so than lack of foresight from Dannii.

**But the important thing, is she can still make the correct and apply it to the type of songs she makes for her first album.

I disagree with this, she would of been slated what ever she did with her. Her best performances were when she sang the ballads and with the girls the audience wants to hear them sing these. Look what happened to Rachel, don't think she sang ballads.

I'd say Simon did a bad job with Jamie and Danyl, Louis did an even worser job with Miss Frank- they should of gone much further and as for Cheryl she has been extremely lucky where Joe got there on his own merit, she could of perhaps done a better job with Rikki and made Lloyd more current.

So I'd say.........
Cheryl has done worse job (I know she has act in final but any of the judges could of done that)
Louis 2nd worse- Did well with Jedward but Miss Frank should of got further
Then Dannii
Simon best judge (pains me to say, but even then he's messed up with Jamie & Danyl)

I couldn't agree more with Simon Cowell and have been saying the same thing for weeks. Dannii had the chance to have an original singer in Stacey but chose to go down the Diva route and to me it just wasn't Stacey. When she sang at her audition she won me over immediately. She didn't go on and sing the usual Mariah Carey etc song and her voice was so warm and natural. She really was my favourite but as the weeks went on Stacey seemed to get lost in the evening gowns and money notes which she didn't always hit. IMO Stacey wasn't about being a Diva, she wasn't Leona, her personality was so unique that it didn't gel. I saw her as something better than the same old X Factor Diva. I think she sang best when she sang Coldplay, Keane etc and I just think she could have been the next Dido or the like. An opportunity missed Dannii.

I'm surprised Simon's blaming anyone. He must be thrilled, he obviously didn't want another female winner this year. And I think he perceived her as a threat to Joe, but Olly is a far bigger threat and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a shock result tonight. Cowell makes money either way but as much as he likes Olly, he wants Joe.

IMO Stacey performed her best last night in all three of her song choices. For the first time, I saw her as a potential winner.

I agree with Simon on this, mainly because I said it first, around 3 weeks ago.

Stacey was my early favourite, a natural singer with a pure-toned, perfectly pitched, highly listenable voice, reminding me a little of Karen Carpenter. Her early performances made her the rightful favourite with the bookies, viewers and forum posters. Her Hi-De-Hi chalet maid personality was the icing on the cake. You could fall in love with her and with her voice.

But then she was made to sing bigger and bigger songs, where she overstretched that pure-toned voice with its stable, lullaby qualities until she started to sound stained, and untidy on the way she closed a lyric. She lost most of her finesse. That and some of the absurd costumes, from that Mae West/mermaid dress to kissagram girl just made her seem all the more amateur instead of a professional-in-waiting. I knew she wasn't going to win, and I didn't think she deserved to do so based on what was happening, and so my allegiance switched to Joe.

I won't entirely blame Dannii for this, because there is a tendency in these shows for all females to have to sing at their loudest and highest to stand out. Simon, Louis and Cheryl would probably have done the same. Last year saw a battle royal between Ruth, Laura and Alex for decibel output, with two of them losing their voices. It seems post-Leona female contestants are expected to be vocal powerhouses, and this isn't what Stacey is all about.

Whoever was ultimately responsible, the direction Stacey took was the wrong one.

Don't agree. The man really is talking codswallop. This is a man that decided that willingly saved an act he had publicly wrote of as being p*ss-poor.

Can't believe a word he says now!
